What belief have you changed that changed your life?

Did you purposedly decide the belief was not good for you %26amp; change it? How did you change it? How has it changed your life?
What belief have you changed that changed your life?
That people can change. I didn't think they could but they can. I don't judge anyone for where they have been , whats important is where they are heading.
What belief have you changed that changed your life?
I changed my belief that %26quot;it's all about me.%26quot;

I NOW know it's all about God. We are seekers of happiness; it's the way we are made. I did not find happiness until I found a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I have a joy within me now, no matter what, even when I grieve. Sorrow and joy can exist together unlike happiness and unhappiness...

I want to do right by others more than do what %26gt;%26gt;I %26lt;%26lt;want. I find the best in everything I experience, because it has become more obvious in the new light.

It's not all a bed of roses, this is LIFE, and I'm not perfect or better than anyone else, I am just forgiven. I didn't give up fun, either, I just have fun in ways that glorify God.

Best part: anybody can have it; the grace of God is given for all!
I CHANGED MY BELIEF THAT I WONT WORRY ABOUT WHAT OTHERS THINK%26amp;SAY ABOUT ME!! THAT I HAVE TO THINK JUST ABOUT ME!!! THATS THE ONLY WAY I CAN BE HAPPY!!!

How did you go about changing your thought process in order to lead a more positive life?

I've been working on %26quot;the power of positive thinking%26quot; (or the %26quot;law of attraction%26quot; if you so wish to call it) because I just feel like I'm on a downward spiral - and at 23 I am far too young for this. I've been thinking about it for quite a while now and the past couple of weeks I really thought that I was getting there. I was no longer just acting happy and fun with other people around (because in the past few years it truly has been just an act) but I really started to feel better. I was feeling more positive, I could see all of these amazing things happening in my mind's eye if I could just get myself there. But since Monday, I've fallen back down again. Since that day, I was ping-ponging between hope and the lack thereof until today I just feel nothing but fear, anguish, sadness... When it comes down to it, I am honestly just afraid that there is no such thing as a happy ending. I don't want to feel like this because the more I feel this way, the more true it will become...

Have you been able to turn your negative thoughts into positive ones? How has it changed your life for the better? How long did this process take?
How did you go about changing your thought process in order to lead a more positive life?
Well I myself have been unhappy most of my life %26amp; have suffered severe depression. Since I learned of the law of attraction years ago I have had my ups %26amp; downs. Honestly I am still in general unhappy with life. Nevertheless my life is at least somewhat better than it used to be. Due to practicing the law of attraction I am a lot more wiser %26amp; educated %26amp; spiritual than ever before.

I still have negative thoughts, I think there is no escaping that in this life time. However I have little ways of dealing with them. Whenever I notice a negative thought or feeling within me I think to myself there is no need to feel this way. And I then think of something positive that makes me smile %26amp; feel good, at least for that moment. It can be hard to sustain that positive feeling though.

I have affirmation paragraphs I read to myself often %26amp; I notice every now %26amp; then the little synchronicitys that happen. If you tell yourself things like I am getting happier %26amp; happier everyday in every way. And tell yourself you believe it more %26amp; more everyday. It will likely at least have some sort of impact on your life.

I know from experience it is more about your feelings %26amp; beliefs that have an effect rather than your thoughts. Though your thoughts will lead to feelings. When you make a positive statement to yourself you have to put the emotion into it to multiply the effect.

Anyway it does take time to change bad thinking habits. And it really just varies from one thing to another. I wish I could be more help but I don't even really know what to say here. I wish I could snap my fingers %26amp; make it all better. Well anyway meditation certainly can help, so that's one option you can take. Sorry I couldn't be much more help. =/
How did you go about changing your thought process in order to lead a more positive life?
Well, it takes 28 days to make a habit. Try doing something each day. Meditation is good. Put on some nice music and meditate for 10 minutes each day.

  • How do you tell a "Life Long Friend" they are keeping you from changing your life for the better?

TELL THEM, BUT DON'T INSULT THEM. HOW CAN A FRIEND KEEP YOU FROM LIVING YOUR OWN LIFE? ARE THEY LIVING IT FOR YOU OR SOMETHING?
How do you tell a %26quot;Life Long Friend%26quot; they are keeping you from changing your life for the better?
Be straight forward. You don't have to be mean or ugly about it just honest. You might be surprised and set an example that could possibly even help them for the better. Alot of people are followers and kinda just go with the flow. Be honest, stick to your guns, and who knows something wonderful might happen and better both of your lives! Be a leader. Good luck!!!!!
How do you tell a %26quot;Life Long Friend%26quot; they are keeping you from changing your life for the better?
A genuine friend mostly see good things in you even if youre in the lowest of your feelings. And they usualy spend most of their times lietening to you. If you sees these reactions/traits from what you call life long friend then he or she is somehow helping you molding your life for the better. That is if im getting your concern correctly.

If you mean, how to tell them that theyre hampering your ways to make yourself better, then just be yourself and confornt them with all honesty. After all, if they wont understand you, theyre not worth calling a life long friend then, and hence should be avoided.

Have you ever been made redundant and it changed your life for the better?

Have you been forced into a new situation as a result of redundancy, but with the benefit of hindsight it turned out to be a blessing in disguise? Did being made redundant actually unintentionally change your life for the better?
Have you ever been made redundant and it changed your life for the better?
    Maybe.
Have you ever been made redundant and it changed your life for the better?
Yes it happened to me. I had worked for the same company for 8 years and was becoming part of the furniture. I was made redundant and got a job on 4 grand a year more doing the same job.
no but its hanging over my head at the moment and with 20 years service under my belt in June, i could be worth a few bob and be able to find me a less stressful job and start winding down for my last 15 years employment before i get my bus pass
Yes, I got made redundant at xmas 1991.Got a job straight away and had money in the bank.

    Christmas eve... in despair

New Years eve.. happy as a dog with 2 d**ks

Waste management: How much would it change your life to revert to a lifestyle with little/no waste?

How much would it change your life to stop using disposable things? Do you think that change would be worth it? Could as United State citizens we could go back to shopping at the general store with cloth flour sacks? Or canning our fresh veggies for the winter? We even have mega freezers that could freeze provisions for longer storage. What about eliminating cars? Could we even begin to use horse and buggy again, or do you think we couldn't hack all the hard work that goes into that?

    What do you think?
Waste management: How much would it change your life to revert to a lifestyle with little/no waste?
you can hardly go back to non polluting ways as industries in general DO NOT care about enviroment. no matter what they say they don't care. the biggest problem is packaging. almost everything you buy is in a throw away pack. plastic can be recycled but will never be as good for enviroment as paper, cardboard, glass packaging. i buy my soda pop in wisconsin in 7 ounce returnable bottles. a rare sight nowadays. i also try to buy milk in paper cartons as i will compost itself easily and the milk tastes so much better in paper containers. look at all the crap walmart sells and 99% of it is in sealed plastic. the junk comes from china and the only way to get it from that far away in one piece is to seal it up like that. a box would not stay together with all the movement enroute. tons of garbage is here to stay because of the packaging industry and outsourcing.
Waste management: How much would it change your life to revert to a lifestyle with little/no waste?
I do not know about you, but I don't think I could drive a horse and buggy 23 miles and get to work on time every day. Besides I do not have a place for one on my little bit of property. As for the other things you mentioned, I am gone by 6:45am and do not get home until 7:00 pm every night. I do not think I would feel much like canning or freezing vegetables after the hard day I have every day. I barely feel like dragging my tired body into the grocery store to shop for the things I need.
hussssssh??? i will not go back to the past way,and riding a horse in hours from my office to my home,or home to office. it so tired you know,,
I wouldn't mind the work and caning and all that but there are so many people in the world today and if they all had a horse could you imagine how much horse turds there would be . Not only that look how much land it would take to grow hay and what ever a ells horse needs to survive like an aria to run around wile your not using it . Its not like a car that you park in one spot for days on end. I think we had better come up with a good clean energy source
I swear you people, if you want to travel back in time by all means be my guest. You could assimilate into an Amish community and make your dreams come true! I'll keep living the lifestyle I have now and you go ahead and take a few steps backwards if you want, ok?
We will never go back to the time, when men where men.

That is a given, most people couldn't handle it.

Even some of the hardest workers around that are crying about everyone else not wanting to work would be made to look like loafers in those times.

but there is no need for such extremes anyway.

learning to recycle waste to make energy, and use microorganisms to remediate pollution caused by farming and other industries would greatly improve the situation.

we are working on those things now.
    here is what I think

I think at least half the people could adapt to such a change in short order. We are far too disconnected with the natural world.

I would love to see more incentives in place to reduce our waste and to use our waste to produce a product we can use, such as municipal compost yards. We should also have more local farmers markets, free local busing in the heart of the city, and a tax put on products with excessive packaging. I love how Trader Joe's has a raffle for all the customers who use cloth bags. I've never won but I use my cloth bag almost every time I shop there?

What books or movies changed your life?

I was recently inspired by someone's answer where she said that a novel she read changed her life. So, my question is, what book or movie changed your life, and how?
What books or movies changed your life?
Anne of Green Gables. The books and the movies. They help me see that a girl from a small town, who originally had NOTHING can make a happy successful life for herself. Anne believes in herself and never stops using her imagination. She gains many kindred spirits along the way.
What books or movies changed your life?
Sadly, Twilight changed my life. I see a deeper meaning to the first 3 books that really wasn't intended by the author, but hits home real hard. They made me better understand my life I suppose. And made me love someone again who I thought I had lost.
it was both the same book and movie it was called coal miners daughter it is the loretta lynn (queen of country music) back in the day it is a true life story and both book and movie are do overs (watch or read more than once)
I LOVE anything by Nicholas Sparks. Those are heartfelt novels.

One of the movies that have changed my life is TITANIC and some of shakespear's books like hamlet and others
Many books and movies have changed my life in someway, because they give me something to think about or another way to look at something.

Why does certain someone change your life?

I thought guys were nice looking, but never really wanted to date until I met him. Why do these people change your life in such a way that you are not the same person before you met him? The things that you thought were important aren't anymore.
Why does certain someone change your life?
I dont know. maybe its just a phase you are going through at the moment because this person has made you fell different emotions that you have never felt before.
Why does certain someone change your life?

  • SLOWNESS - as a lifestyle option, have you contemplated changing your life in lovely ways?

I'd love to hear your original ideas for ways to 'chill-out', 'take it easy', 'take the rough with the smooth', and make your days happier and shinier.

    Have a lovely day.
SLOWNESS - as a lifestyle option, have you contemplated changing your life in lovely ways?
Live on a boat as I do. Having a home that rises and falls slowly with the tides is very relaxing. The most stressful thing I have to do sometimes is to make sure I've got bread or rice crispies for the swans and their goslings when they come alongside for their breakfast. Still have all the amenities that seem necessary in life. I get off my boat in the mornings and everyone I pass has a cheery hello, unlike living in a street where I'm unlikely to know my neighbour. I can also move my home whenever I like, take it away for a few days and anchor in a creek and spend the weekend naked. Now that's very relaxing!! There's a picture of the boat on my 360 page - take a look!
SLOWNESS - as a lifestyle option, have you contemplated changing your life in lovely ways?
Addictive pc games, internet porn, riding my motorcycle, and playing guitar.
    life's 2 short-mastubation(when my man ain't round)-bubble baths-talk 2 ur loved 1's-walk ur dog in the park.
Hide all brown envelopes that come through your letter box!
    i agree w/ sshazam
This is gonna sound really wacky - and it is - but I swear it puts me in a trance. First, I grab some trance music, preferably something that sounds melodic and has a constant beat. Then I put on some incense or scented candles so that a pretty smell wafts through the room. Next, I start swaying to the music, either using a hula hoop or simply just feeling the beats go through me. After about half an hour, it turns into a really heavy trance and sometimes it's almost nirvana-like.
no chilling out. just go to a village and relax for a few days. And i mean real village. not a RESORT!
Just being on the internet is relaxing. I mean you can read, play games, write about stuff, learn stuff, and help people all in one place.
no. u cant slowdown even in the so called lovely years.

one certainly doesnt want 2 b a parasite on the society.
life's short and unpredictable os you better make the best out of everything.meet true friends and have some fun together. learn to laugh and cry. appreciate little things and don't worry to much... hope for a happy ending (cheesy.)
when i want to relax or chill out i try to listen to music (like songs that have pianos playing) i find the sound of pianos very relaxing and peaceful...i almost get hypnotized by them...its a weird, but lovely feeling (Blissful, maybe)

by the way, i like that painting of those two ppl kissing, it was cool!! =P
    probably
What a silver tongue you have. Chill out, the connotation makes since in the current climate(bad pun). I used to think a great workout, and a bong load was the best thing ever. But I stopped smoking and drinking 9 months ago. I love to Mountain Bike. It does not seem like exercise, it puts you in touch with nature, and lets you push all your limits and boundaries. While exercise for some is not very relaxing, it is very cathartic. The sleep after a long ride is the best ever.
I put a ban on my microwave and have been making a bunch of old recipes from my grandmother's cookbooks. I never knew her because she died while my mom was pregnant with me, but my mom gave me her cookbooks when I got married and I've made dinner every night from those cookbooks because I want to do things the %26quot;slower%26quot; way, the old-fashioned way. In a world of instant-gratification, it really makes you appreciate things that take time, like making dinner and building a relationship strong enough to last the 60+ years like my grandparents' did.
I already have. I live in the country. When you live in the country, most of your neighbors will be pretty laid back, not in a hurry, not likely to be upset with you when you're not in a hurry.

It's a slower way of living. It naturally allows you to enjoy life. Fresh air, sunshine. Nobody around to bug you or get on your nerves. Enough elbow room helps people get along better. I think that if I lived in a big city like NYC, I couldn't help but be uptight. You're living up under a gazillion other people. All that noise. All those smells. Sensory overload.

Get away to the country and do nothing for a while. Relearn how to dream. Relearn how to play. Breathe fresh air, bask in the sun without a bunch of people looking at you. It's a great way to cleanse the spirit and to get real.
I resort to private time. Listen to music, read a book, or if it's raining I sit outside and watch the storm and listen to the thunder. I go for walks and look at nature, the trees, etc. Sometimes I go fishing, find a spot where no one else is around and can fish for hours. I don't let things get to me, I take things with a grain of salt and whatever is happening....it too will pass.
    Breathing techniques.
    mine has and will always be to go out shopping, especially for shoes,then go to the theatre but when things are really really tough i seek a childrens home out of the city and go volunteer for the weekend by the time i get back to the city, i would have %26quot;taken the rough with the smooth%26quot;
Oliver, I feel better just from reading your question and thank you for your good wishes - right back at you (as the young people say lol)
Sitting in the garden on a warn sunny day not too hot, having a glass of wine with my boyfriend. I also love watching DVD while having my cat on my lap.

How has wicca changed your life?

I am deeply studying wicca and am doing a little sel practicing in between. Have you personally seen or felt the prescence of the God and Goddess in your life? How has wicca changed you?
How has wicca changed your life?
Sure I have, and so has everyone even if they don''t realize it.

I grew up catholic. I started learning about wicca in the 6th grade, truely converted around 9th. Since then (it has been many years) I have been slowly gravitating towards energy work. Basically, everything in the universe is made up of energy. God/Goddess live in that energy. Feeling that energy and working with it has changed how I see the world. I have worked with my own energy through my chakras to experience my own energy, with the earth, trees, ocean, rivers, etc to feel the energy of the world, connected with the energy of the universe and realized just how TINY we really are, etc.

The Goddess and the God will show themselves to you, you just have to figure out what language they are speaking to you first. For me it was energy, for some it is herbalism or aromatherapy or reiki or meditation or whatever. Keep experimenting, find what part of wicca or paganism you really connect with and go from there.
How has wicca changed your life?
Yes, It has given me the strength to deal with life's problems.

BUT I accept the path suits me it may not suit others. It's not an easy path. It's not easy finding ways to Respectfully %26amp; Honourably deal Bigots.

    .
I've reached the place where I can't say what in my life is the result of being Wiccan and what's the result of being older.
I don't think this is what you are looking for, and I'm sorry if you find it inappropriate, but I thank Wicca all the time because if it wasn't for Wicca than I never would have discovered how huge Paganism is and I would have never found my current religion which is a very big deal for me.

Wicca gave me a great gift and on my spiritual path I made a bunch of really great friends, it's all because of Wicca really :)
it hasn't I'm a Heathen and I don't like many Wiccan in my area especially those damn Dianics if it wasn't for me telling my Godhi that I wouldn't I would back hand their high priestess. I can't tell you how much I hate it when people say there family was wiccan all the way back before the crusades it drives me nuts wicca didn't come out till around 1920 and when they try to say they are an ancient religion grr don't get me started. but then I've met some wiccans outside this area that are easy to get along with and are well educated on there path.
I went through a time when I was young and being Wiccan

    promised me some fulfillment.

It told me I could be one with nature and with others around me.

It also told me that it could be a part of my Christian spirituality as well.

It said that Jesus could be my god and Mary could be my goddess.

However, as I studied the rituals involved in being Wiccan (i.e.

    casting the cirlce)

some parts involved stirring a cup of water or some drink with a knife

(symbolizing the unity during intercourse between my god and

    my goddess).

Knowing that Mary was Jesus' mother this seemed utterly wrong.

The spells i tried casting were never effective and my

life felt unfulfilled and extremely empty.

I tried my hardest to get them to work (mind you

they were never harmful toward anyone because I took the

    three-fold rule to heart).

Still, nothing gave me what I longed for.

    Slowly I became disillusioned.

I became more attentive in my theology classes at school

and eventually i turned my life around.

I am now proud of who I am and the struggles I surmounted

How has blogging changed your life?

For those of you who have a blog, how has blogging changed your life? And what benefits have you reaped from it?
How has blogging changed your life?
I earned lots of money through Google Adsense, by putting advertisements on my blog. Also, it has changed my life in a positive way.

The feeling of people who comment on your post, and the feeling that people really want to read your content, is just great. I will never stop blogging.
How has blogging changed your life?
you posted this question twice, so I'm going to answer it again. blogging is a waste of time. but

    I have more thoughts.

blogging is similar to yahoo answers. I waste a lot of time on here trying to get opinions on what to do in such and such a life situation. the answers never really help as much as it helps to talk to someone i love.

Do you have any stories that changed your life?

I have to write a mini essay for my homework, but I need some inspiration, please share your stories (that changed your life).

Please don't tell me if you were a drug/alcohol addict.

I am a young teenager so i haven't really experienced a change to my life, yet.
Do you have any stories that changed your life?
There are a lot of different faiths in the USA and I have practiced being a Russian Orthodox, Catholic and Episcopalian. None of these churches made me feel like I was getting to know about God, only a little about Jesus. I stopped going to any church for several years and prayed from home. Still I felt as being in a void. About 15 months ago one of my neighbors asked if I would like to join in a Bible study at her home. I talked to my fiance' about it and she asked me what faith is she practicing. I told her it is Jehovah Witnesses. She said to me Go For It. During this time I have learned what the Bible really teaches, have learned the name of our True God and have been comforted in my mind by living the kind of life that God expects from us. Also made several new good friends who offer moral support and answer questions about some scriptures that I don't understand.

My life changed by learning more about God with Jehovah Witnesses, because I find that people trust me more and believe what I talk about. More important is that my fiance told me that she trusts me more now.
Do you have any stories that changed your life?
Yes but im not going to waste my time telling you about it
Only every f()cking day! seriously I wish my life wasn't so crazy
    non, am only 15.
In 10th grade I had an history class with one of the best teachers ever! He brought life in his class and it was not all dates and facts in a monotone voice, but rather he asked questions to the students then explained how things happened. This opened my eyes to history and made me read about it on the side (as well as art history to learn animation. It removed all remnant of religious belief I had and now my life has never been better!
A person once asked me why I was a Christian. I didn't have an answer. I couldn't think of a single good answer as to why I was a Christian. After thinking about it for a while I finally decided to reply with something that didn't mean much to me, but I thought it sounded good. I said, %26quot;Because of the teachings of Jesus.%26quot; That person then asked me specifically which teachings of Jesus I liked. Again I didn't have an answer. I had been raised Christian so I knew the teachings of Jesus fairly well, but I couldn't think of anything special. I couldn't think of anything that really meant something to me. I never replied. Christianity no longer had a place in my life. It wasn't doing anything for me. I was only believing because that's what I was taught to believe. Shortly after while I was sitting on my bed thinking I came to the realization that I just didn't believe in Christianity anymore. I lost my faith. I have felt free ever since.

What is something that is changing in your life right now?

Do you like the change? Has it taught you anything?
What is something that is changing in your life right now?
I'm coming to a realization that I am sometimes my own worst enemy and that I should stop being so negative about myself and make positive decisions and stop being so paranoid.
What is something that is changing in your life right now?
yea i am going to the australian ballet school
I just graduated from college and am looking for a job. Usually around this time, I'm signing up for college courses. However, now I'm trying to figure out what job I want.

I like the change because I need a change (I've been in school a long time). It's taught me to be grateful for change.
My belief in God has been changing. I never really felt religious, but i am begining to. I love the change, and feel much more happier having faith.
well being married is relatively new to me. 6monthes. thats a big change! so my lifestyle has changed, living arrangements, my location etc. i like the change, like anything you have to adapt to the new changes and its not always peaches and cream.
I thought i hated change...but now that i think about it, i kind of love it. It makes me grow, become more aware of things i never thought about before.....it is very gratifying! At this time in my life, i am falling into monotony and it is killing me. So i'm going to do some volunteer work......i need it! I need things that challenge me.....
Me %26amp; my friend have liked each other for like years(we're childhood friends), I knew it, she knew it, everybody knew it, never knew why I was too panzy enough to ask her out, anyways, she starts going out with this guy (he knows we like each other by the way) and they date for awhile, they break up. And me, stupidly, about a week and a half later, I ask her out (A lot of guys like her, she's not the type of girl to go out with everyone but I was scared I'd miss %26quot;my chance%26quot; and this cycle would just go on forever) and she says no,wanting to be apparently just single. I was fine with that us being friends, relived, actually, because I just wanted to let her know how I had felt. But she started ignoring/avoiding me. So after about 3-4 weeks of this we talk about it, she says she has been avoiding me but doesn't say why, and now people are telling me that she is %26quot;sick of me%26quot; and %26quot;annoyed%26quot; with me because I'm too %26quot;clingy%26quot; But I haven't said barely anything to her in a month! Confused ;(

    - I copied that off one of my questions - hasn't worked none of the answers...

And I learned...Friendship is a fragile thing and that people can honestly get pretty upset over spilled milk. And last but not least, Girls are phcking confusing.
I'm becoming more confident in going after my career. I like change only when it is beneficial to my life and it has taught me to appreciate the ability to accept changes if it benefits me in a positive way.
Plans to move from the east coast to the west. I love change, it's taught me that all will be okay.
something that is changing in my life now?-my perception of things. of course, i like the change since it has taught me to see things in a positive way, to accept problems as challenges and stress as a positive one...
My relationship with someone...for better or worse I do not know...
Did the monkey just come from the water???!!!

I have always kept three books on my desk, a Bible a dictionary and the complete works of Shakespeare. At 20 I had the Bible on top followed by Shakespeare then the dictionary. At 25 I had Shakespeare bible dictionary. At 30 Shakespeare Dictionary Bible. At 35 it was Dictionary, Shakespeare, Bible. Lately the Shakespeare has been gathering dust and the Bible is getting used second only to the dictionary. This tells my whole story in three books, sort of.

Thus Spoke Zarathustra by Friedrich Nietzsche is the most life-changing book I have ever read. It completely reworked how I think about things from entirely new perspectives. Reading some of Nietzsche's other books helped further enlighten me.

I used to think philosophy was a completely useless and stupid subject until this book.

Have you ever came across a major decision that changed your life for good?

How did this decision change your life? After the decision you made, do you think it was the best?
Have you ever came across a major decision that changed your life for good?
Only a few times, and after i made the decision it tended to have a much more positive affect on my life, although in one instance the decision itself was stupid and had a negetive effect for about six months until i finally grew and learned because of it.

The most important decision i've made has made me a stronger person with more belief in myself, it made me ask questions that i knew i would never find the answer too, and it changed me completely, yet i was still the same. That decison was to give up the pre-defined set of beliefs i was givvn as a child (i.e. religion) and it has made all the difference. it didnt make me an athiest, i'm still searching for my truth, but it gave me choices, it made me depend on myself, and it made me open my eyes.
Have you ever came across a major decision that changed your life for good?
Yes, many times, and usually for the worse.
yes and yes but the cost was of the highest order.
...yes, it brought immense suffering and pain to my love ones...

...truly a good decision, only one of seven - thanks for asking...
yes and not take the advise i was given ,big mistake.
yes. it was wonderful for a few years and then things got tough.

it made me grow up, and more assertive. wiser.

i don't regret it. It was the everlasting memories.

I have. It was quiting drugs. It gave me a clear head and more energy. It was the best decision of my life to date.

The book Veronika Decides to Die by Paulo Coelho Really is a very good book. It is a fiction book and despite the depressing title its actually really uplifting! Its about a girl who attempts suicide, doesn't die but gets told her organs are failing and she soon will. She then goes through a lot of emotional stuff and realises she doesn't want to die. There is a twist to the tale and its really life affirming.

It taught me to see human beings as a resource.

Now I can look upon them as tools of industry and business without having to acknowledge their humanity.

I can reduce people (workers) to basic spreadsheet equations measuring the relative short term gains of business without being bothered by concern for their livelihood and their families.

Business education is a great way to lose your compassion and humanity.

  • How has Judiasm (Orthodox, Reform, Conservative) changed your life for the better?

I'd like to know how Judiasm (Orthodox, Reform, Conservative) changed your life for the better?

I don't believe this question was ever asked before. I was once a conservative Jew. Perhaps I missed something you genuinely experience?
How has Judiasm (Orthodox, Reform, Conservative) changed your life for the better?
Because my mother's Jewish cultural heritage encouraged reading and learning.

Following that allowed me to come to the educated conclusion that my instinctive atheism was also intellectually correct, as well as %26quot;feeling%26quot; right.

    .
How has Judiasm (Orthodox, Reform, Conservative) changed your life for the better?
It hasn't, I blame you for not trying hard enough XD
    Fahgetabout it!!!! lol
Growing up in an Orthodox Jewish family gave me the freedom to start using drugs, thinking that because I was one of God's %26quot;Chosen People%26quot;, that I had an %26quot;in%26quot; with God, and that I was automatically forgiven for anything I do, especially since we would go once a year and pray for forgiveness. But even before that, I felt justified in smoking and drinking, and I saw nothing wrong with adding LSD to the list of things I allowed myself to do.
It hasn't change my life cause Im not converse to Judaism, but i can tell that it gave it direction so it went the right way from the beginning.
The only way to change your life for the better is to reject your god!
What a curious question! I have been Jewish from birth; it's who I am; it's what I am. It never %26quot;changed%26quot; my life; it is my life and always has been! I cannot speak to your experience as a Jew. I can say, however, that Jesus has always been and will always be irrelevant to Judaism. If Jesus is that important to you, then be a Christian.
answer: I am one that can answer as I'm a convert TO Judaism. It renewed my spirituality and introduced me to a G-d I had rejected decades ago. The reinforcement of a love of learning, a never ending quest for knowledge and a tribal community sings to me. Its hard to put into words sometimes.
One Jew (name Yeshua) liberated me.

How would this change your life?

You have just invented the %26quot;Perpetual Motion Machine%26quot;. It is small and compact but it is very strong. You've hooked it up to an electric generator and found that it can make more electricity that a gasoline powered generator. Your perpetual motion machine runs clean and doesn't use any fuels and it doesn't produce any exhaust, so it doesn't hurt the environment.

Your invention is used to power cars, boats, homes, business, everything. There is a death warrant out on you from every oil producing middle eastern country and the state of Texas. You can make your machine for under $50 and sell each unit for $1,000. It is projected that you will earn over $500 billion dollars in the first 5 years. You build a house near Bill Gates and he calls you his %26quot;rich neighbor%26quot;.

Think before you answer, then tell me, how would you change your life?
How would this change your life?
Well, that's not quite the way it happened. I sold out my invention to the oil companies, and I still have more money than I know what to do with. Have I changed? Yes, I guess I have. I used to tell whoppers, but not any more. There just doesn't seem any point to it these days. I found out that truth is so much stranger than fiction.
How would this change your life?
It wouldn't. I'd still be the same old me.
I would have to bring my whole family with me, because being close to family is important. I think I would definitely be giving a lot, to my church, my family, and everyone in need that I know =)
You would get killed quickly so I should say that the change would be total. No oil producing country would let you do this to their industry. In fact, there probably already is a %26quot;Perpetual Motion Machine%26quot; but some government somewhere is keeping it under raps.

Your family would also be killed, just in case. Your home would be destroyed by a mystery fire which is what killed your family. You were knocked down by a car that drove off after checking that you were really dead. Your identity and assets, and those of your nearest and dearest, would be %26quot;erased%26quot;.

No one would remember you and no one would miss you either.
Change your appearance as radically as you can. Change your life style so its not traceable to you. Have your money deposited into an account you can get money from that can't be traced to you (how you do that I don't know. I would remember that there is poverty in this world and instead of building a house next to Bill Gates i would travel around and I would make sure at least 80 percent of my money went to children in Kenya living on garbage heaps and anywhere else there is severe poverty. And as my perpetual motion machine took away power from some of the corporate w------ in the world I would do my best to get them out of govt. and make the military everywhere that they make money off of shrink and shrink and shrink.

Which book gave you the power to change your life for better?

Please give a reason why it made you change?

What changed in your life since then?
Which book gave you the power to change your life for better?
'Send Me No Flowers' by Jenny Tomlin

It's about an intelligent girl who has everything she could ask for (personality, intelligent and appearance wise)

She then falls in love with a violent, sexually abuse drug addict and dealer.

You pretty much know what happens now...

She eventually finds the courage to stand up to him and break free.

I had a boyfriend who was violent and was verbally and sexually abusive, it made me realise that standing up to him was the way forward in those situations and for other situations too.

Reading that book made me feel stronger and more independent. It has changed me into someone who wants to do well in life and now knows to get rid of someone like that later on in life and now I know how to deal with things unlike I did before. It's brilliant.
Which book gave you the power to change your life for better?
Two books (which take place simultaneously):

%26quot;Oryx and Crake,%26quot; and %26quot;The Year of the Flood.%26quot; Both are by Margaret Atwood.
%26quot;Man is Not Alone%26quot; by Heschel

I have felt God's love since I read and practiced that book.
The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murray.
The power of now by eckhart tolle, I think its realy good ;)
The idiots guide to the Internet..I would be lost without it

Is it true in many ways if you change your attitude you can change your life?

I'm curious if any of you feel like this is true and more so if any of you have experienced it... Ever changed your life simply by the way you choose to look at it?
Is it true in many ways if you change your attitude you can change your life?
Sure! it's like looking everything in another point of view. Every person has different experiences and so they look at things in different way. It never has to do with who/what your looking at but they way you chose to look at them/it. Hope I've helped.
Is it true in many ways if you change your attitude you can change your life?
Yes, your attitude influences your perception, %26amp; that influences your experience.

Some people think that every problem in the world can be fixed by having the right philosophy. If you happen to be screaming in pain from a kidney stone, you don't need somebody telling you, %26quot;Lots of people have it worse than you.%26quot; This is like the %26quot;snap-out-of -it%26quot; approach to treating clinical depression, which doesn't work either.

On the other hand, right attitude can help in a number of ways, not only changing how you feel about your situation but in shaping the world around you. If you approach people you don't know with a cynical attitude and you're impolite, you could be making them hostile.
That's what the self help idiots want you to believe. Trust me, I've been down that road of 'positive thinking' and 'changing how you think.' Just life your life dood. Stop searching for these solutions.
Yes, attitude matters. But no use if only you change. Others also must reciprocate accordingly. That is when harmonious relationship occurs.

  • Have you ever had a "religious experience?" How did it change your life?

I'm not necessarily looking for %26quot;conversations with God%26quot; responses, just wondering how an experience has changed your life. Was that change temporary, or are you still affected in some way by that experience?
Have you ever had a %26quot;religious experience?%26quot; How did it change your life?
When I was 18 I became a mother of a beautiful boy with a man who is an alcoholic. At 20 I was living with my mother and he the father was living with his mother. We had a big falling out and I was distraught I loved him and wanted to be with him but he couldn't make up his mind. I was driving one day and just burst into tears I couldn't stop crying and praying to to God to help me , My car starts chugaluging and I'm like great just one more thing to add to my pile of grief and then the car dies. As I'm crying head on wheel someone knocks on my window and asks me if I was ok. I noticed he was holding a bible , I tell him I am fine which obviously I wasn't and he asks if I want to join him at his church. I said no I've got to get home but the car seemed to be overheated and as I told him this I looked over to my right and it just so happened to be that I broke down right in front of a church. so i decided to go inside and wit for a bit it was great I can't remember what the preacher was saying but when I left I felt like a load had been lifted and to my amazement my car started right back up without a hesitation no chugalug or anything . We are still together and have another beautiful little girl and things are so much happier.
Have you ever had a %26quot;religious experience?%26quot; How did it change your life?
yeah! last year but one i went to a bible school study for one month.at first i thought it was one big joke. but after that i started looking, even at negative things, positively. this has made me achieve what i never thought i had the capability to. amazing!
THERE WERE TIMES I PRAYED AND PRAYED, AND MIRICLES DO HAPPEN. ONE TIME I HAD NO MONEY DID NOT KNOW HOW I WAS GONNA PAY FOR RENT AND MONEY FROM NOWHERE PAYED MY RENT FOR THREE MONTHS. THERE WERE TIMES I HAVE WISHED AND PRAYED FOR THINGS, IT MAY TAKE TIME BUT IT EVENTUALLY CAME TRUE. I BELEIVE IF YOUR BOND IS STRONG WITH GOD THE SUPERNATURAL THINGS AND EVENTS THAT HAPPEN IN YOUR LIFE ARE UNEXPLAINABLE. THE EXPERIENCE WAS NOT TEMPORARY, I AM STILL AFFECTED TODAY I PRAY AND THINGS FALL IN TO PLACE.
I almost crashed my Harley into the back of a SUV when he suddenly decided not to try and make the turning light. I took evasive maneuvers (brakes, turning) around him, into the right hand lane and my foot grazed his back bumper as I sped past through the intersection. Combination of luck, skill and perhaps devine intervention.
    Many, actually.

It was nothing too dramatic, but it proved to me there was a God.

I never really gave God a chance until one day my baby sister was in alot of pain (she has health problems).

she was screaming at the top of her lungs, and i didnt know what to do but something made me want to pray.

i put my head down %26amp; prayed. once i was done she stopped screaming.

little scenerios like that proved to me there was someone watching over me %26amp; my family.
    I am a religious experience.

It affects my life continually. I am crucified with Christ and so my life is not I but the Holy Spirit of God animates me.
I met Jehovah once. He intruded on my revery, and we shared hostile glances. He left. I didn't miss Him.

That pretty much put a period to my Christian phase.

I threw myself whole-heartedly into my current 'theology'--that I won't bore you with.

The effect 'on my life' has been mainly that I don't have a lot of patience with believers in the god of Christians, Jews, Moslems, and Mormons who haven't met the god themselves. I have, and I was not impressed.

    Oddly, they seem disinclined to accept it when I say, %26quot;I've met your god. I don't like him.%26quot;
I opened myself up to gods a long time ago and found a couple right away who eventually led me to others. I continue to communicate with all of them on a variety of levels even today (I always find it strange when someone describes their god as being completely remote and alien).

It's funny but, like stumpfsklub, I also am familiar with an entity that I associate with the Abrahamic diety and also don't care for it very much. I wasn't even going to mention my relationship with the divine until I saw the above post. :D

I don't suppose I've seen all the gods that are. My experience is that most of them aren't really interested in world domination and the like; they have their fingers in other pies. So whatever most people believe in is okay with me, excepting those who try to suggest that their dogma invalidates my own experiences (which seems to be many of the followers, if not the gods). So it goes.
I don't have any thing to do with religions, but I once had a personal epiphany.

Because of it I am a vegetarian and use no products available because of the torture and/or deaths of animals. It has been 16 years so I think I can claim a permanent change and total commitment.
Being form a family (and a country) deeply mesmerized by catholicism I had a religious experience performed on me when I was 12.

It was the %26quot;covenant of Abraham%26quot; it's effects are life long. And it hurt.

What book has changed your life/persepctive and why ?
    %26quot;Left to Tell%26quot; by Immaculee Ilibagiza. Amazing true story of how the author hid in a minister's bathroom with seven others for over three months during the holocaust in Rwanda. The experience changed her state of mind, and obviously also her life. The way she tells it does the same for, I'd venture to say, most of her readers if not all. It reminded me of some common old sayings, particularly %26quot;If you think you have it bad, just remember someone else in the world has it worse.%26quot; She had to remain quiet in that small space while listening to the sounds of her family and the entire community being butchered outside, and yet paradoxically she discovered the meaning of faith in that bathroom. Not necessarily Christian or any other naming organized church-goers (although she is now Catholic), just all that is entailed by the word alone - Faith. The word is used here so as to be interpreted however you need it to be, whether as %26quot;God%26quot; or simply as %26quot;something better.%26quot;

No one reading this should think it's a book trying to draw anyone into any certain religion. That's not the case. Just forces you to think twice about whatever your current situation is, and re-shapes your mindset to be a much more positive one...even if you're not quite aware that's happening while reading.

    :)

The Lovely Bones...it deals openly and honestly with tragedy and how it affects the lives of everyone involved
The Picture of Dorian Grey was a fascinating concept, with %26quot;be careful what you wish for, you just might get it%26quot;. I really like one of the chapters, but forget which one it is: this chapter describes Dorian Grey changing as he reads a certain book, it's excellent symbolism for the reader reading the book about Dorian Grey.
Cirque Du Freak. I was addicted to food until i read this books. The main character is a vampire and he has to drink human blood or else he will die, he rather dies than harming someone. It sort of inspired me to stop my food addiction.
Star Wars: Shatterpoint showed me a new definition of pain and horror. It induced nightmares that showed me how selfish the path I was on was. Turned my future completely around.

Did today occur a life changing event in your life or was it just another ordinary day?

Most days are just ordinary days. Then when something happens that is out of the ordinary those are the things taht change you life forever. For the better or worse. USually the thing that happenes is out of your control.
Did today occur a life changing event in your life or was it just another ordinary day?
    its not over yet

Will answering this question change your life?

I wonder if answering this question will change anything in your life or in the world. Could it be a butterfly effect? What would you be doing if you were not answering this question? Could this possibly change your life drastically? What do you think?
Will answering this question change your life?
    loll, i doubt it!
Will answering this question change your life?

How has one place you've traveled to changed your life?

How has one place you've traveled to changed your life?

Travel has had a huge impact on me before, opening my eyes and changing my perspective. Some places I've been have affected me more than others. Where have you been that has changed you and how?
How has one place you've traveled to changed your life?
Well I haven't been there but the contry of Egypt change me. I fell in love with it. The story and everything. And it's a love witch has lasted 4 about 4-5 years now. (I'm 16). If it's a contry I am going to see before I live this world it has to be Egypt.
How has one place you've traveled to changed your life?
i dont have the money to travel.
i know this my sound dumb but i went to alabama %26amp; it is not as hilibillie as people say. it tells me u shouldnt judge a group of people because where there live because its not who they r.
going to africa changed me into a different person. once you go to africa and see all the kids and families with nothing: no food, no clothing, nothing. once i got back to california, i gavbe donations, and i appreciated what i actually had in life. i started to use my money more wisely and i appreciated everything around me.
mexico it opened my eyes to fierworks that are the size of my head and billards clubs everywhere i husled my share
Going to Las Vegas has changed me alot, ever since I got back. Now I'm broke and have credit card debt that is out of this world. I guess you could say that San Francisco did the same thing! Yep, it changed my life alright!
last week, went to laos for the day, very interesting, most of the people speak french,it takes about an hour to get across the thai -laos border,to much paperwork.i would visit again but fly into vientiene which is the capital and stay for a couple of days
A trip to mexico had a profound effect on me. I saw people who had very little in the way of material things who were happy to have what little they did have. Their joy came from their families and sharing what they have with others and you see what's really important in life. I have come to see you need little in the way of %26quot;stuff%26quot; to make you happy, just basic needs, family and God.
Hue Vietnam. I fell in love with the culture, food, and people. I am now married to a lovely Hue woman and we have wonderful little girl. Traveling can change your life. Cheers

  • I have let myself go in the past few years and I want you to tell me what worked for you in changing your life

i realise that getting back to a good weight and looking better is a holistic thing. its a combination of things so what works?
I have let myself go in the past few years and I want you to tell me what worked for you in changing your life
I suggest three areas of focus, exercise, nutrition, and rest.

    1) Proper nutrition! 鈥?Unfortunately, the food here in the US is so processed and unnatural mixed with the environment our immune systems are perpetually suppressed (stop drinking and eating %26quot;diet%26quot; foods they actually interfere with a bodies recovery and weight loss). We have to find the proper forms of many of the required nutrients that we are not getting in our diets:

    a. I have found a number of phyto-based nutritional supplements that have kept my family very healthy and assisted in my weight loss and additional energy

    b. Add a healthy and potentially organic diet which helps as well by removing much, not all of course, of the environmental junk we intake

    c. Drink lots of water 鈥?Most of our chemical processes do not work properly in the absence of water.

    2) Sleep 鈥?A lost art! Sleep is the way our bodies recover and our perpetual lack of it has caused many of our issues! Get more sleep!

    3) Exercise 鈥?Another lost art! Many of our health issues are related to lack of activity and weight added due to it. Some of the core nutrients are created and correctly processed in an active body, not a sedentary one.
I have let myself go in the past few years and I want you to tell me what worked for you in changing your life
Being committed to feeling and looking better is what will work. Strict healthy diet and plenty of exercise. Good luck
I like to hike and kayak. And camp out in the woods. I don't have a job so I travel all the time.
A great saying to remember is...

    %26quot;People form habits and habits form futures%26quot;

Your current condition is nothing more than the result of the habits you've formed. Begin working on creating some good habits having to do with diet and exercise. It typically takes about 21 days to form a habit so think in terms of changing for the next 3 weeks. By then habits will begin to be formed and you will see change. Over time you will be a different person - good luck!
dont eat after 6:00 its hard but it works you can eat a good breakfast a good lunch eat something light for dinner....its simple dont make it hard......
I think first you have to always think positive. Talk to yourself and find all the good things that you like about yourself. Treat yourself at the mall, buy something you normally wouldn't buy. Second just start eating healthier foods, salads veggies fruits etc... Drink lots of water and take short walks. Get yourself motivated to change your life style, work at it, and it will all happen for you. Good luck and be happy!
Yoga is very beneficial for regaining a healthy weight and lifestyle. A reasonable diet, quality sleep and weekly exercise all help too.
I just recently changed my lifestyle. I did a colon cleanse, don't eat after 6 pm, eat organic food, take raw apple cider and raw unrefined coconut oil. I lost a lot of weight and inches, but more important I felt more energetic and felt good.

How do you cope with the anxiety before a life-changing event?

Let's just say before a surgery that will change your life forever. How do you cope with the anxiety? does it get better as the day of such surgery gets closer? Do people feel this way or am I the only one who does? thank you for your answers.
How do you cope with the anxiety before a life-changing event?
Surgery is a scary thing. Do you really want the surgery? Is the change going to be one that you have yearned for, or is it something else? If I were you, I'd speak to my doctor and get some short term anxiety meds to tide you over until the date, if the date is close. I wish you the best!
How do you cope with the anxiety before a life-changing event?
My thought is you need a personal friend or a psysholigist to talk with. hope this helps
hi, i had to have MAJOR surgery and i was anxious to. believe me this is quite normal, try to keep yourself happy by doing things that you like and keep telling yourself that there is someone out there who is worse off than you and there is.--cheers--

How easily do you adjust to your life's changing circumstances?

Do you consider these changes as a challenge for something new or you're afraid to changing environment ?
How easily do you adjust to your life's changing circumstances?
    I would like a change ...

... I just don't know what I would like that change to be.
How easily do you adjust to your life's changing circumstances?
When I was a lot younger.....any changes doesn't affect me. I always think bring it on but now.....any changes frightens me.
they change .. with or with out you.. so i just go with the flow.. and adjust to them as best as i can...
Well, I'll tell you. All my life I figured change was inevitable and to let it throw you into a tailspin was a major waste of energy. All of a sudden, I woke up one morning and looked in the mirror and saw some old woman staring back at me. That scared me. How did I let my life just slip away? Seemed like only a few years ago and I was considering going back for an advanced degree, which I failed to do, and here I am now too old to even work. I wear out fast. Need an afternoon nap just to get through the day. I am sure trying to adjust to my life's changing circumstance, but it isn't as easy as I thought it would be.
It depends on how drastic the changes are. I'd like certain things to change, but I'm deathly afraid of other changes.
    ...with difficulty and knowing acceptance...

...more to meet the challenges of Life and its consistencies for change...
    I`m only here for a little while darlin`so I ain`t changing anything...

What one "insignificant" moment has completely changed your life?

Mine was probably the night i met my boyfriend. I was ready to go home and my friend dragged me out to another club. I had recently broken up with someone, and for the first time in my life was not interested in meeting anyone.

So, naturally, I met the guy i have now been with for 3 years.

So what seemingly insignificant little decisions or actions have led to a big change in your life?
What one %26quot;insignificant%26quot; moment has completely changed your life?
goofing around on a swing and jumping suddenly from it.not knowing i was pregnant with my first baby,i lost it......
What one %26quot;insignificant%26quot; moment has completely changed your life?
    Too insignificant to matter.

Can you change your life path after tarot reading?

I was thinking about tarot readings, and how sometimes they are wrong. But assuming the reading is correct and it predicts bad things or failure happening to you. Is it possible for you to do things differently and change your life path? Because now you know that what you are focusing on could be a failure so you do things differently in order to ensure success? And after a longer period you take another reading, will it show different or will it be the same? I mean, the cards or your fate can't be fixed, unchangeable, can they?
Can you change your life path after tarot reading?
I have been reading and teaching tarot professionally for many years. I tell my querents and students that fortune telling is only about 1% of a good reading.

If you are getting and receiving tarot readings that are all about predicting the future then the tarot is not being fully actualized. The future changes in every moment and is never for certain.

When I give a reading I clarify the past and the surrounding atmosphere of the present to help bring clarity. A good reading should bring understanding of contributing factors and making better choices. I will usually sum up with where the present path is leading and possible results.

The reader has a huge responsibility in that words are very powerful. A well educated tarot reader fully understands this. The power of suggestion is alive and well...as your question clearly states.
Can you change your life path after tarot reading?
They don't mean that something is going to be one exact way... they just suggest possibilities

And they could be very wrong about those possiblities
my life changed after a bad hand of poker... i lost the months rent :-(
sorry i play war with mine
The cards don't predict anything. They're paper %26amp; ink. The reader can only guess. Whether you change your life or not is up to you.
why couldnt you? they are wrong more often then they are right because they are just random cards.

The only meaning or truth you can get out of tarot cards is the meaning and truth you put into them.
It would be stupid to take life altering decisions based on unproven system like tarot card readings.Have some faith in your own wisdom and judgment.
In my earthly waltz before accepting Christ I lived with a brilliant tarot carder....?? She could read my poker cards mentally about 88% correct, she thought she could read my tarot till I got caught filling her head with my thoughts so she thought they were hers. Then she could read anyones cards if I was in house or yard or nearby. So not a good science with so many liabilities. We parted, she spent some time in clock bird ward and I found Christ again. I have never been so so blessed in life since that path change, came back to my origin and my eternal future.
You can change your life path any time you wish, it's all about choice, tarot cards are for guidance - not a hard %26amp; fast blueprint of your life...

But they are useful to know what %26quot;might%26quot; happen.....
Sorry, you can't change your future...

If your future is predicted and you change it, then you never got your future accurately predicted in the first place... It's a paradox. That's why future telling doesn't exist.

That's why you can't go back in time and kill yourself... Because if you did you wouldn't have been around long enough to go back in time... and.. kill yourself.
    Hello Vixen

Of course you can. A reading is about probable outcome if you decide to stay the same as you are at the time of the reading.

If you change your mind, take action then different results can be reached, although most of us stay with our tried %26amp; tested methods of going through life, not willing to make changes.

The cards outcomes can also be different due to the readers clarity, if your reading for yourself you can see what you wish rather than what is.

    Sadhara

    see profile :)
A Tarot reading can suggest a future outcome and if this is something that you don't like then you have the power within you to change this. This is called empowering - giving you the power to shape your own future. Although this then makes the Tarot reading outcome not true - at least you are on your way to a better future and that is what it is all about.

Yes you can change the outcome. the reading often is based upon a question that you ask the cards. If you do not follow the path the cards lay out you can change the outcome.

Name 3 life changing situations that you have been through and how did it change your life?

    Mine would be:

    1. Hurricane Katrina- Im from New Olreans and i lost everything in that storm. I understand the importance of life and how you shouldnt cherish material things.

    2. When i got a divorce- I didnt know i was such a bad wife until my ex finally open his mouth and my eyes. I think about other feelings before i do things.

    3. When i moved out the housing project- I didnt know that the world had so much to offer. I was stuck in that situation without a choice. From that day forward i wanted to make sure my life had meaning.
Name 3 life changing situations that you have been through and how did it change your life?
    1. surviving sexual abuse. it took me too many years to realize its not who i am but what made me into who i am today.

    2. my parents divorce crumbled every perception of what i thought life was about. it made my beliefs change about so many things, but i still believe.

    3. having my own family has made me realize that having a family carries a lot of responsibility. you aren't ever perfect and that raising children is the hardest/most important job i'll ever have. it made me realize my parents were just human.
Name 3 life changing situations that you have been through and how did it change your life?
    1. Losing my little brother. I honeslty didn't think that could happen to my family, now I live my life in constant paranoia thinking that one day I could lose a child.

    2. Having a child.... for obvious reasons, they take everything and give nothing, but you love them anyway

    3. Getting married and divorced ......Realized how much I cannot stand living in the same household as another person in that respect (he thought he controlled everything)
When I farted and crap came out.

When I farted in church recieving communion.

When I lit my fart on fire and all my a s s hair burned off.
    1. Over the last 7 years I have lost about 30 people close to me. ~ All of these deaths have shown me that no matter what time, what age, how successful or not, whether you're ready or not it can happen to anyone so cherish life while you are here experiencing it.

    2. Moving away from mom in November 2006 ~ Although my mom and I were always close moving away from her showed me a new perspective of her being my mom.. she wasnt there everday to fix all my problems... instead she was 3.5 hours away. It taught me to appreciate her and the situations that she went through trying to raise me %26amp; my brother!

    3. Starting College to become a medical assistant ~ I work full time during the day %26amp; I go to college at night... my weeks are exhausting and sometimes I feel like I wanna give up... however I am not just an adult who goes to work to pay the bills anymore... now I am an adult who goes to work to pay the bills and who is a student at night struggling to make ends meet. I've learned to appreciate all the hardworking people in life that have nothing and build something out of scraps. :-)
to much to tell, gone and forgotten''
I'm only 24, but I've had a lot of life experience in such a short time...

    1. College. I was the first person to go to college in my family and graduate. I didn't have anyone else in my family to look at as a role model that had already been in college. I had to figure everything out for myself.

    2. Coming out of the closet at age 20 as a gay man.

    3. Selling everything I own to move to NYC to start a new life.

  • How would this change your life?

Your first question - how would it change my life? - Well, for one thing, I'd be the most wanted person on the planet and all the oil magnates would want my head on a silver platter. That would definitely change my life!!! I may not even have one if I don't disappear conveniently. The thing is, it will take me 5 years to earn enough money to buy off any head hunters they may have contracted and I may not last that long running for my life. I would probably live in fear for having invented something that actually benefits humanity and alleviates poverty of people and countries who are so dependent on oil-producing nations.

Your second question - how would I change my life? - after having amassed such a fortune, I would retire from public life, change my facial features through plastic surgery and live the life of a secret billionaire in peace. Of course, this after I've settled the legalities and issues on who would run my business for me or if I would be trading stock publicly.
How would this change your life?
I would have to start by thanking God for a solution to pollution. I would make sure my family, best Friends, and myself were comfortable and taken care of for the rest of our lives. Oil barons are gonna go to jail, because I've got the money to find you and protect myself. Charities are going to love me, because I believe in giving back. And finally I will have the money to do what my mom says I can't do, and that's to save all the kitties, big and small.
Well for one I'd find a new job, one that I did solely for enjoyment. Next I'd probably not move in next to Bill. I'd buy a house where I wanted to, pay off my parents home, pay off my debts and my friends debts, make very large donations to places that needed them and then go on a ridiculous shopping spree.

After that was done, I'd relax and usa my new found wealth to help my community. (Since the money source is semi-infinite, I wouldn't be concerned with the funds). Oh yeah, I'd bank enough money to live off the interest comfortably for the rest of my life as well.

Oh yeah, as far as the oil guys, I'd hire hitmen to take them out before they could even consider how to take me out.
First thing first . . . I would market have to get it marketed . . . these oil producers and natural gas producers have a lock on many of these industries.

Then I would have to deal with the death threats against my life and the lives of my loved ones . . . from these people. Probably . . . hire some body guards.

I would probably buy a country . . . and start producing the product there. I would build a simple house . . . with all the comforts of home. . . .

How it would change my life . . . it would change it drastically. . . .

First I have to protect my a** and my families a**.

Move out of the United States . . . probably back home to the Philippines.

Probably run for president of both the Philippines and the United States.

    Probably get assassinated . . .

Changed my life : Haven't watched a Sunday NFL game, start to finish, in 7 years. Know the names and properties of at least a dozen Pokemon characters. Impossible to have a phone conversation lasting longer than 5 minutes, without an interruption. Get to be a kid again.

Fun : Get to be a baseball coach, I'm always %26quot;IT%26quot; when we play tag, get to make up voices and characters for bed-time stories, birthday parties, camping, having pancakes/sausage for dinner, displaying artwork on the fridge, tickle fights, finger painting, making messes.

Not so much : balancing a busy sports/activity schedule, conversations with ex-wife
Dads how has your life changed since having children?
Not a dad, but I am VERY pro-dad, just popping in to give you credit for this question!
I had to turn my life around. The process had already begun before I had children but the kids sort of cemented the idea.

The unconditional love is simply amazing. I've never had that and in fact didn't understand it until the kids. You can be in the worst mood and the kid walks in and it's gone. My priority's have all changed and are geared towards their success.

Fun times basically cover when ever there is interaction. Doesn't matter what it is. From being covered in makeup with clips in my hair to teaching how to tackle. It's all good.

The only bad, and I wouldn't use that word. Is the frustration from trying to make them understand that what they do now impacts their future in ways they can't even imagine.

What's more life changing: your first big death or losing your virginity?

First death, you could lose it and think your all that, then when your first big death occurs, your severely, emotionally hurt.

    good question // big death
What's more life changing: your first big death or losing your virginity?
    idk

    death
    virginity
Death - was 19 when my father died. Changed my world.
    I'd say death.
Virginity for me, because he left right afterwards...
virginity you only have one and

    everybody dies
    death
Death because it lingers much longer. Virginity is kinda big but a lot easier to get over. For sure!
    most definitely a death

How do you change your life?

Start small. Pick only a few things to change, and then every time one of them presented themselves to you, think twice before you react or behave. The key here is is NOT react or behave the same as you always do. Pretty soon, you will create NEW habits and it won't take much thinking about them. This is what I did and it worked well. I now am improving my self and my personality daily keeping to just a few.....

Pick hobbies, or activities, or clubs, or w/e that you want to learn about to make them interesting and keeping your attention. It would be kinda boring if you already knew all about them wouldn't it? Choose new friends while you %26quot;wean%26quot; out your old ones. I have changed friends while I was improving my personality many times throughout my life. It does take alot of work tho-so be prepared to stick to your guns with yourself, do not give in. EGO is a strong phenomenon but can be overcome. Choose your behavior according to THE system of right and wrong and life's little issue that are sometimes thrown at us become easier to deal with and resolve.

I did this too, and I believe I've definitely changed. I started learning an instrument, studying music, and making some (reachable goals) and I got a new role model. I feel.....different, in a good way. Im not as naive as I used to be, im not as oblivious to the world around me anymore, and Im still finding out who I am, and learning my place in the world, which is good. Like the others have already suggested, learn an instrument, play some sports, take up painting, anything! that can be kind of like you out time, where you escape the real world and indulge yourself in your hobby. Make goals so you can help progress yourself to change. Cut your hair, change your wardrobe, do something that you wouldn't normally do, it fells funny at first but great at the same time. Try these things and you'll slowly start to feel, better, stronger...different. But the best thing is, the outlook on life you'll have once you've changed. It's exhilarating!

    Good luck. :)
I was exactlty at your spot.

First start playing a sport. Learn any music instrument you like. Do activites what your inner self wants to do.. Do a part time job ( it really grows your confidence )

Wake up early in the morning, have a healthy life style. Do some personality devolopment courses. ( i reccommend doing 'Landmark forums%26quot; ( look it up google )

For hobbies i really enjoy doing photography, reading a book, playing play-station.

Also start doing yoga.. it really helps you out.
