How has your bf / gf / spouse changed your life?
Wow. I mean, he got me out of an abusive marriage (we were friends then), worked two jobs to pay my attorney so I wouldn't lose my kids to the ex (his family had money and power in our little redneck town), adopted my kids as his own, moved me to the beach just because I always said I wanted to live there..... sharll I go on?
How has your bf / gf / spouse changed your life?
My husband has introduced to me to many different cultures--he has appreciation of all things roman, chinese and scottish, to name a few--of the %26quot;finer%26quot; things--food, music, dance....he has given me the child I have longed for and prayed for. And so much more. He is my best friend, my confidant, my one true love, my life partner. ;p
Oh, you said in %26quot;positve%26quot; ways. Never mind. onto the next question.....

How has one place you've traveled to changed your life?

Travel has had a huge impact on me before, opening my eyes and changing my perspective.

Some places I've been have affected me more than others. Where have you been that has changed you and how?
How has one place you've traveled to changed your life?
Nicaragua definitely. After going there, it opened my eyes widely. Although it is a third-world country, I loved it. There were so many friendly people, willing to help you, and everything was really well priced. Also if you want to purchase a house, they sell an entire mini island to you for only 60 thousand!
How has one place you've traveled to changed your life?
Austria.

One of the most beautiful places I've been. Absolutely loved it, and learned a lot about how their government works and their initiatives for energy that I really believe in, and wish would get implemented in the States.

Iceland, for the same reason- though it was a harder place to be because it's VERY expensive.
the only place i been to the farthest was a 4 hour ride to wildwood and made me realize that i can have the most fun no matter wat place as long as you with som1 you love.
i live nyc and moved to cali..it made me love nyc moreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

and treasure livin there....its mad borin in cali and mad fun in nyc...but bein in cali changed me by turnin me from ghetto to a nice person..

  • To all the people who got or own a horse while they are still a teenager, did it change your life?

Did getting/leasing your own horse change your life and if it did how?

Do you think its affected the person you are now?
To all the people who got or own a horse while they are still a teenager, did it change your life?
I was fortunate enough to have my first pony when I was 5...I'm 16 now and there's been about 6 hours in all that time when I've had no pony and about 8 months of that time i've had multiple ponies.

it's changed my life, certainly. if i didn't have my own ponies, i'd still be riding once a week at a riding school and would probably have taken up some other sport or become extremely fat. i would have lost faith in everything - no joke ive sufferd depression and my horses are the thing that got me ththrough. i would be wondering what the future held for me.

thankfully i do have my wonderful ponies and have begun to respect myself i am riding at national level jumpin 1m10-1m20 courses on my 14.2hhs and its no longer my dream to compete pro, its my ambition. i am fitter than i would be thanks to that.

and yeah its also changed my life in small ways. i frequently lose sleep coz im thinking how i shoulda ridden that course. my phone backgrounds are photos of us jumping. my walls are covered with photos and qualification notices. my hero isnt like johnny depp or someone its geoff billington. people think im sad because i use the %26quot;im competing%26quot; excuse for everything ive missed parties gigs everything to jump.

so yeah its changed my life its hard but i cant imagine life without it. and now i understand %26quot;motherly love%26quot;, which i think is important.

oh and i also do better at school because i think ive gotta get grades to get a good job so i can afford horses lol. and that love 4 them makes you understand sad soppy poems in english lit class more!
To all the people who got or own a horse while they are still a teenager, did it change your life?
Change my life? This is what I chose to do and I followed through with it. I love horses and this is who I am so I guess it affected my life tremedously ..being able to care, love, ride horses.
Me I found owning a horse a natural thing as my grandfather was a horseman by trade so it was a natural progression for me

I was riding before I could walk so I was one of the lucky ones thanks to my grandparents
Yes, I have no time for anything except the horses.

It has definitely made me more responsible.
I got my horse for my 16th birthday.

Here are some changes it made:

I didn't get that brand new car (or any car) when I got my license

I had to get a job

My future birthday/christmas presents stopped being cool things like a new cell phone and ipods and turned into fuzzy toe socks

I frequently went to school smelling like a horse and/or with hay in my hair and/or wearing not so fashionable breeches

    I suddenly became very poor

Suddenly I was %26quot;responsible%26quot; and expected to pay my horse bills

Any extra money I had in the party/car/fun stash went to my horse

He is definitely worth it and has changed my life, but I'm not so sure about the person you are now bit. He probably has in some way, but I don't know it
Not really changed it, since it is so much a part of my life and has been for a long time. I actually own three great horses and they are everything to me. I dont event, or do shows though i have considered barrel racing. We trail ride and just hang out really. They are all verymuch my best friends and kind of like my children, even if one of them is older then me(: It definetly is a great part of my life, having horses that is.
Definitely. It taught me to be more responsible and grateful for everything (especially spare time!) I have no social life, i have no birthday or Xmas presents for myself, they're all essentials for Lilly. But, it's all worth it if i'm honest. I'd rather have no spare time than too much and getting drunk, stoned and getting an asbo on the streets.
yes!! i got my first horse when i was 9. and i recently got another horse that i compete on in A shows. im 15 now. it has taught me to be really responsible and to try my hardest, especially when i am competing. my horses are the center of my world and i dont know what i would do without them!!%26lt;33
Well I got a horse when I was about 8 and as for changing my life - I'm not sure because I was always around horses and at 8 y/o I had very little life to change.

However, if you mean did it affect how I view the world or animals or learning, I guess I could answer that with a %26quot;YES%26quot; because learning to ride teaches your respect and discipline and allows you to meet people of the same interests who are different from those who do not ride.
Well, i got my frst horse when i was 13 and now ihave 2 horses and im 15. its alot of work bc im the only one in the fam who takes care of them. So have to clen the stalls, ride them, groom them, bath them, feed and water them, pay for vet/farrier, etc. it helped me bc im not doing other things like hanging with the wrong crowd of ppl or doing stuff i shouldnt be doing. And it gave me a respocibity. And it kept me busy during summer and active. But when it comes to school my school work always come frst. so i had to do my homework and study before i could go out and ride them, so yes it has changed the person i am now. And im not sitting around the house i am outide and doing something active.
I think it changed my life. Although my horse has never lived close to me, it still forces you to be more responsible. Your money does vanish a little quicker and you tend to miss social outings to go hang with your horse but I wouldn't change it for anything. I got my horse in the middle of my parents nasty divorce and I really do think I'd be a different person had I not had my horse to help me through. Maybe that sounds stupid but I find you can't really neglect yourself if you have an animal relying on you.

Have you ever had Moment or Situation or action change your life forever ?

Have you ever had a moment, situation or an action make you wake up open your eyes and make you change your life for the better.

    All answers welcome
Have you ever had Moment or Situation or action change your life forever ?
Yep, though only a small one so far and I don't know how it happened, just woke up and realised I was living my life in a repetitive, boring kinda grey way. So decided to change, and change I did, now trying to put enjoyment in my life. That was roughly a year ago and it's going well. Hope that helped you
Have you ever had Moment or Situation or action change your life forever ?
Getting born changed my life forever. I guess dying is going to have a similar effect.
ya i was talk to this girl really lay back and relax i little out of it but think will and she was talk about her and her lover and at that point i could hear and see that she really loved him. and it change my life because i had stop believing love till i got to know her. i know it a childish but it the 1st thing that came to mind.
    Yes.
I haven't gone through a moment or situation in which my life has changed afterward, but I experienced kind of situations which totally has change my thoughts and my view on myself, my life and my outlook on future and they often happened after I pondered on a defeat I had to face or the moment after I achieved one of my goals.
Yes! The day that I realized that absolutely NOTHING that we are told by the entire %26quot;news%26quot; media, can be trusted or believed was the beginning of the most fantastic journey of discovery that any human can ever undertake. Of corse, the truth - whatever that may prove to be - is obviously hidden for a very good reason. Is it really just rich people wanting to get richer, or is it something else?
Doesn't everyone have a moment or situation or action that changed my life forever? I have a great Teacher.
    Yes, several times.
I was caught with my boss's sister and it changed my life for ever. Well, the situation didn't make you wake up but it look away my boss's sleep and then I had many sleepless night applying for another job.

If given the opportunity to go back and change one thing in your life, what would it be?

Also, how would this change your life as it is now?
If given the opportunity to go back and change one thing in your life, what would it be?
well, when I was in 11th grade my parents decided to move to illinois. I met a girl in 8th grade by the name of Anita Rivas. I fell in love right away and have been ever since. Her parents decided to move to Mexico about the same time as i was going to move. She knew I loved her but I never took a step forward to make any commitment. At the end of the school year she approached me and asked if I thought there was any reason she should stay here instead of move. I wanted so much to tell her yes, stay with me. But I couldn't make myself tell her. Since I had to move with my parents to a diff. state, I figured it wouldn't be fair to her, to expect her to have a long distance relationship. I was heart broken and very very depressed for a long time and still am to an extent. That was 15 years ago!!! Since then I've never seen or heard from her. I've searched and searched and I can't find her. I've had one little girl who is now nine years old and had one very bad relationship with my daughters mother. I figure i was meant to have my daughter!!!! I just had her with the wrong woman!!! It should have been Anita. Then my daughter would've known what it was like to grow up in a family that has a mother and father that actualy love each other. My friends tell me to forget about her, but my best friend tells me not too!! I feel like my life will never be complete. I miss her!!! People ask how do you know your in love for real...true love...for me it was asking myself all the questions you ask yourself about a person you are interested in.....all the answers are positive...even to the worst questions!!
If given the opportunity to go back and change one thing in your life, what would it be?
    Nothin'.
    children
If I was given the chance to go back and change one thing in my life it would be that I would have started to learn to drive when I was 15 or 16 because now I'm 20 years old and I'm depending on rides from my parents to get me from place to place when I need to be there until I get my license. I've had my learner's permit for a year now, going on 2 years and I still can't seem to grasp the concept of driving. I really wish that I would have learned to drive sooner in my life because I really hate depending on rides and I wanna be independent for once in my life. That is what I would change.
hmmmm maybe the time my dad made me go on a ferris wheel i think i was like 12 and i thought ok looks like fun but when we got to the top my dad started rocking it and there wus a little sign that said don't rock the chair i was terrified that we were going to flip. so i guess i would go back and not go on the ferris wheel. but i can't really think of a more serious time
I would have gone to college immediately after high school.
I would have repeated the sixth grade, that way I would not have gotten behind, then I would have done better in school, so I could have gotten into college, gotten a higher education, and become a child psychologist.
I would have graduated from high school, gone straight to college, and got my Bachelor's degree, rather than partying and pissing off time like it's a replenishable resource! If I had done that then, I would now be well established in my career and making good money. Instead, I'm 40 and struggling through school (but making straight A's!) while raising a family on a limited income. Better late than never, I suppose, but still a hard lesson to learn!

What are things that help when you are majorly transforming your life?

I am going through positive major life changes and struggling to break free of old habits. I tend to stay inside and I need to get out more also. What things helped you to transform/ change your life/ quit smoking?
What are things that help when you are majorly transforming your life?
Check out local festivals and things to go wander around. Walking is great. Look for markets as well.

Dance classes. Try Ceroc or modern ballroom classes where you meet people and you don't have to bring a partner.

Do a course at your local night school - language, cooking, history. Something that interests you.

Plan a trip somewhere. Maybe visit an old friend? If you have the money and the time, what about a new country? Somewhere totally different and not somewhere you'd normally think of going to for a holiday - Vietnam, Peru.

Book a tour where you can go by yourself but have the comfort of other people if you need it.

    Good luck!
What are things that help when you are majorly transforming your life?
    Friends friends friends

get some friends to help you
A good positive mental attitude is the first step. Get yourself outside, even if only for a few minutes at first, and then start to build that up.

Exercise will help to release endorphins which will boost your mood and help you feel better, as well as helping you to get fitter.

Look at your diet. A poor diet, lacking in vitamins and minerals will make you sluggish and cause lack of energy.

Have a look at this website...

    http://gosmokefree.nhs.uk/

It will help with the stopping smoking.

I'm training to be a massage therapist and learning more about nutrition and what poor nutrition can do has really opened my eyes and given me the kick up the bum I needed to make some changes.

I'm drinking more water - between 2 and 3 litres a day, which is helping me to stay properly hydrated and is doing wonders for my skin too!

I've made some serious dietary changes. I'm vegetarian but my diet was far from good.

I'm not stopping smoking yet. I know I should but I have other things going on in my life so I'm not ready to just yet.

Is there anything you really want to do? Like learn how to salsa dance or an art class? Then go and do it. You will be amazed at just how much more positive it will make you feel.

    Good luck!
I stopped smoking cigarettes back in November of 200, just before Thanksgiving of all times.

I had it rough for about a week, but after that I was on my way to a better life.

I feel great right now and don't think about them. I gained a few pounds nothing major.

I sleep better, breathe better , feel beter and even not as stressful as I was, but I'm very energetic and drinking lots of water.

I have to stay busy and when I'm aournd smokers I can smell it now. It doesn't bother me, but I prefer to not smell it since I stopped, but I have lots of friends that still smoke so I just ignore it and move on and finally after smoking for 20 years it was very easy for me to put it down.

Anybody can put them down when you're ready too. You don't need nicotine gum and all that stuff. Just stop like I did and let it run its course.
Friends! That is the best support system you could possibly have. Keep the ones pulling you up, and ditch the ones that could potentially bring you down. Also, try to find a new hobby.

How did your life change after your depression ?

I had anxiety problem which lead to my depression and i was wondering how did your life change? Did you relocate? Did earn respect from friends or family? Did you have a promotion?

(serious replies please and no judgment thanks)
How did your life change after your depression ?
got depressed took lots of drugs then i quit then lots of drink then i cut back then lots of sluts i started to like one and she didn't want to stay with one guy now i'm depressed again.

just gotta roll with it lol ;)
How did your life change after your depression ?
    ITS SUCKED
my life changed dramatically I was very friendly out going. now I am clingy to my husband and dont care to make friends or go out and have fun I avoid my family. it really sucks but i am trying to find my way still
I shut down and avoid people. I have alot im working on in my life. Until I get what I desire I may stay struggling!
I'm going through the same thing...I'm at the point now where I am hovering over the %26quot;big red phone%26quot; (AKA my xanax) the fear of having a panic attack is preventing me from doing everything I want to, not the actual disorder. the depression is now stemming from the sense I have now that I am trapped in my own house.

my doctor told me that these irrational tendencies never really go away, they are found and treated, but the treatment makes the coniditon migrate somewhere else and doesn't rid you of it completely. it's a comforting thought to know that the human mind is powerful, but our will is moreso. we can see behind the smoke and mirrors and act accordingly.

I'm sorry you're going through this right now. if you ever need to talk you should email me.
Take a look at the statistics at how many people have depression, take SSRIs or other medication. There is no shame to depression any longer. The shame is doing nothing about it, making yourself miserable and everyone around you too!

As for me, I have been on NUMEROUS types of medications....Wellbutrin, Celexa, Effexor, Lexapro, Cymbalta....more. They all helped for a while but then eventually they would stop working and I'd have to change them. Two years ago after a SERIOUS bout of depression and a suicide attempt I went on an extreme diet where I stopped eating all prepared foods, all fast foods, stopped eating all refined sugars, stopped eating all wheat because the gluten in it is poison to the system, I stopped drinking all diet soda, and started eating only organic and whole grain foods.

Today, I am completely depression free AND I am taking NO MEDICATION.....NONE! I am like a new woman, positive, encouraging, friendly, no anxiety, high energy.

My suggestion to you is to examine what you are putting in your mouth. You are what you eat!

YOU are in control of your life. You decide what you what....to be depressed, anxious, angry, feeling unworthy and addicted to harmful pharmceutical drugs or empowered and in control for the rest of you life?

Oh and I tried the psychiatrists, praying, support groups......all BS.....just analyze what you are eating and exercise!
Well Ive had depression for about three years now, and I can say it really has changed my life. I didnt earn respect from friends or family, I didnt get a promorion or relocate, nothing like that, since I am only 18, but I used to dream of being a famous singer, and I was so sure thats what I was going to be, and now all I really care about is helping others and becoming a counselor for those dealing with depression. Since the famous part is a little unrealistic....I can say, having depression, really prepared me for the real word and I know exactly what Im going to college for. Anyways, good luck sweetie, I hope I helped some!!
    My changed the most through...relationship-wise.

    -friends disappear

-all the people who you thought were friends, disappear

-'beta' family members start to take over you if you were an 'alpha' before the depression...

-you get psychotic symptoms..I exuded schizo traits and panic attacks

    -you might get bullied

-you 'lose' who you are (in the your mind only though - you can't literally 'lose' oneself), or think you can be many personalities at one time (but this is an idea that actually makes you sick not happier)

-i did not relocate nor got a promotion nor earn respect

but, after your depression...you reap the rewards. you really do. ;)

  • How has India's independence affected or changed your life today?

How has India's independence in 1947 made a difference in your life? Even if you weren't alive then, how would your life be different today without the independence?
How has India's independence affected or changed your life today?
Yes of course it has given the Indian the freedom to call the country their own and not be slave to some tiny island nation . India is self sufficient in food. It has handled the recession better than the western nations. The economy is a growing one, so definitely India has come a long way from what it was in 1947.
How has India's independence affected or changed your life today?
who cares.. all i know is pakistan got there Independence from them :)
If india hadnt been taken over by Britain, they wouldnt be doing so bad now. But now india has been tryin to become more ahead and advancing their technologies.
Well, India is now a major producer and consumer in the world economy. They have a large pull in the global economy.

Additionally, the political shocks of still having a colonialist empire such as Britain would certainly be interesting. We might be looking at a very different world right now, regarding middle-eastern politics, African-Independence, as well as many other factors that would be affected by such a country.

    Hope that helps.
I am guessing by your name that you are Indian. As an Indian myself, I can give you the following advice. Think. This is obviously for an assignment or homework, why would you want to put down your answer for this assignment as another person's feelings? Put yourself in the shoes of the people living before 1947 and now, use inspirations from movies, books, people to solve.
i live in Canada. i eat every day. i sleep in a bed. i own a computer. i have MY OWN freedom. i live in most free amazing country in the world. i have the best health care. i have money. i shower every day. i have an education . i have opportunity's . enough said??
    no way yet
i live under incompetent administrators who occupy seat not on merit but on other consideration

How has the internet changed your life?

Before 10 years ago the internet wasn't really THAT big. Today it's taken for granted. Sending an email today is like using the restroom. Have we taken the internet for granted? If the internet were to go tomorrow, how would you all feel? Most importanly though, how has the internet , if so, changed your life?
How has the internet changed your life?
It's alot easier to do research and communicate with people. It saves me time and money.

How did India's independence affect or change your life today?
I learned the significance of democracy, including its vices. Unscrupulous people cannot make use of democracy properly. It may lead to plutocracy when the political parties amass wealth. Now I feel that despite the colonial hegemony, the British were enlightened and they encouraged all the cultural aspects. Now we are more parochial in the name of religion, caste and narrow political interests. A politician who starts with no money becomes a millionaire within no time. Even leftists have become multimillionaires in India. I never imagined that freedom has such a dangerous consequence. Nepotism, bribery, attacking the opponent etc. have become quite common. Might has become right and muscle power has a role in our elections. Despite all these things, we can say that we elect our representatives for a just rule.

i was born after the a decade after the independence so, it did not affect me nor change my life!!!

IF INDIA WASN'T INDEPENDENT TODAY, PEOPLE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO VOTE THEIR POLITICIANS AND LEADERS. THEY WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE RIGHT TO SPEAK AND EXPRESS THEIR EMOTIONS FREELY. INDIA WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN TO ABLE TO HAVE IT'S OWN CONSTITUTION AND RULES.
How has India's independence affected or changed your life today?
The Independence has given birth to our democracy in which we are able to choose the fools and criminals whom we want to be our leaders and whom we want to rule us.

Have you ever read a book that you consider changed your life?

Not the bible please but if you have ever read a book that changed your life, what was it and why? Thanks
Have you ever read a book that you consider changed your life?
I was fourteen when I read Sarah Dessen's Keeping The Moon. I know that it's not this famous book, one that is read by millions of readers, but when I read it everything changed for me. I could relate to Colie and that was what had me so attached to the book in the first place, she was exactly like me. But that's the book that changed my life. It gave me this new life perspective. I started writing after I read this book and I don't think that I would ever have changed that, because writing agrees with me. I've found something that I'm good at and I was never really good at anything, so I think that's why that's my favorite book and the one that is going to stand out for a long time.
Have you ever read a book that you consider changed your life?
%26quot;The kite runner%26quot;, because as I read it I notice how completely wonderful the book is about making you realize that you should fix whatever you've done wrong as the quote %26quot;There is a way to be good again%26quot; appears in chapter one. Since then, I have never judged or betrayed a person.
Pride and Prejudice. It's lead the way for my thinking, introduced a whole world of literature I'd never experienced before, and is the center of my hobby.
Kira-Kira is one of them, because it really opened my eyes and told me to spend time with my family, because they won't be around forever; to let them know that you love them when it matters the most.
%26quot;The Snows of Kilimanjaro%26quot; by Earnest Hemingway. After I read that story I became a writer.

What has been your most life changing moment?
Not sure if this incident changed my life but it gave me the answer I had been looking for without a word being spoken!

The story goes : A few years back my son ( he was approx. 13 )and I were at a gas station. I gave him the money to run in and pay. I noticed a man in a wheelchair heading to the doors of the station. People passed him by, going about their business. He struggled with the door with no help from anyone (all strong adults capable of holding a door) till my son got to the door and held it open for him.

It was a moment of confirmation, that I had raised him well, as I sat there silently in the car waiting for him to return. When he climbed into the car I mentioned to him what I saw ( that many passed by and did nothing but he stopped and held the door ) and thanked him for helping someone other than himself at the ripe old age of 13.

Now this young man has a home of his own and I don't see him as much as I would like but he is STILL the most amazing thing in my life !! His life keeps getting better and better for he does for others and it all returns to him by leaps and bounds!

Those who claim life isn't fair have yet to truly do something selfless !
What has been your most life changing moment?
    being born and giving birth
It wasnt a %26quot;moment%26quot;, but an experience that took about two weeks. It was the two weeks I spent in the Amazon rain forest in '97. It made me stop seeing the world from just the human perspective, and see the world from the broader perspective of all living things.
i,ll never forget the day that broke me. it was when my g/f of 11 years told me she didn,t love me anymore (i later found out she had been cheating on me) it took me three long months of crying every night, almost losing my job %26amp; going down to 8 stone to get over it. the day that lifted me up was when i realised that u can love again %26amp; all is not lost. it just takes time. good question by the way
Getting made redundant at the end of 1989. It meant that I travelled, worked in another country for a year: now I work for myself. It also meant that I gave up smoking since I knew that money would be tighter. I think that it was the best thing that ever happened to me, otherwise I might still be in the same job and living in a town that I did not like, Brighton.
Imarried my wonder-full wife 10 years ago,she saved my life.
broken me- brothers sudden death 1972

    lifted me- sons birth 1977

    take notice- when I turned 50 2006
    Cardiac arrest.
When I lost Mom to Alzheimers', Dementia and Parkinsons', that made me see alot of things differently, I try to be a better person, or I just stay in, it has only been 2 years, so I am still trying to get through it, it has really changed my life, I pray alot more now, too.
First meeting the man of my dreams and marrying him, after that I would say the most life changing moment was the birth of our son. Once you have a child you realize that there's a lot more to life then just yourself.!
didn't see my mother for 10 years, finely i decide to go to see her with my 2 boys.....after all these years she acted like she didn't miss me or my kids. that hurt
    When i discovered the Truth......
The woman's answer ~ Giving birth! Changed me completely! Oh, and getting plastered in tattoos, I appreciate my identity alot more now, being an individual rocks!
    BEST

    Having my son

    Meeting my husband

    WORST

    Meeting my ex husband
My best ever moment, was having my daughter, and she was a lovely healthy little baby, until she was 14 months old, and she started to have seizures, she is six now, but has spent most of her life in the hospital. This has made me a different person to who I was, I used to be happy go lucky, but not anymore.

    She's my soul mate.
My most life changing moment was when my abusive ex-husband said %26quot;I don't want children, have an abortion, It's me or the baby, you choose%26quot; At the time I had no self confidence or self esteem and didn't believe that I was worth anything, my baby however was worth the world to me so I chose the baby, moving into a hostel and really struggling for a few years, but now 12 years on me, my son and my new man are blissfully happy.
The moment I realized I was a furry. Never been the same or acted the same since then.
Nothing will ever change me as much as having a child.

Ever since he came in to my life he has been the person I care about the most, worry about the most, love the most and work the hardest for.
Getting married changed my life forever. Having a child did also. Accepting Christ as my Lord and Savior also changed my life forever. I have a long way to go...I hope. If not, then things are not too bad. My worst moments were after I broke up with my fiancee. That was before meeting my wife. After the break-up, I truly wanted to die. Glad now that I didn't. My wife is wonderful. My child is wonderful. Life is not bad. As I learn, things get a little better, tougher but better.
Studying in Costa Rica and reading the newspaper depicting the US as a bully. I always believed our country only fought for the good of the world. I realized how brainwashed I truly was.
When I became very ill at 12 . I have severe scolisis it was 100% the dr said I would die without 2 operations, and with the opertion i coudl die or risk being paralized .

The pain during that time was undescible Fear was as well I still remember most of it the pain of being moved to take Xrays on this cold metal portable machine . all kinds of weird things BUT This also changed me as all things in lfe do I learned to be more caring and understanding of those in pain and give them as much respect when they need my help i learned i can overcome

( i need to remind myself a lot)

They opened up my mind, and I discovered meanings and morals within everyday life. Love, hope, faith, family, friendship. Plus the black side of it: treachery, lies, killing, malice and irony. Through all these words I learned life lessons that aided me up to this day. One can always learn a life shifting thing from picking up bided pages, ink, and a cover.
Only one book comes to mind immediately as it has been fairly recent. A New Earth.

It changed the very way I feel, the way I look at life and moments, the way I understand people, and Myself. The way I think about Consciousness (or God). It talks about the Ego and it was super enlightening. Things just started clicking in my mind. Language is simple and absolutely profound. I bow to Eckhart Tolle. This was truly a mind changing, heart changing, and life changing book for me.
God Loves Laughter by William Sears

Apparently my parents weren't the only one who struggled to explain religion, God, and faith to their children. This is a great book telling one man's search for answers from boyhood to adult, and how's his life changed, grew, and enhanced with his understanding of life.

    Firestar

    There is a great line in that book that I tell myself everyday, live by it, hold it dear: When a character went to a town meeting, he moved his chair out of alignment. He explained %26quot;Rebel in the little ways, just so the Ba***rds know I haven't given up.%26quot;

When all hope is lost, when the fight seems over, I scoot my chair out of alignment. Just so they know...

The Hidden Words by Bahaulla (sorry if I spelled his name wrong)

Inpsiration, hope, faith, God's love, guidance, support, connection... Just a few words a day gets the mind going and the heart warmed up.

Amy Lee's Journal by Heather Duncan

Inspirational piece written by a nine year old girl, read on tape as a vocal journal of a little girl and her rag tag group who survived an armagedon sort of attack by terrorists. They have to make their way from LA to Alaska, surviving natural and unnatural dissastors, dicovering and, sometimes, fighting off other survivors, and, the whole time, waving the flag as a beacon to others that as long as one person knows freedom, terrisom will never defeat USA.

The real neat thing is she wrote it nearlly 20 yrs BEFORE 9-11.

(I read it everyday and, when asked, I go and forgot the name) By Bob White

    It is a collection of articles Bob White wrote giving little windows into life in the early 1900's. It was a type of writing that inspired me, lit my imagination, encouraged me to find a way to draw a picture using the written words. One great line in it explained when he saw the first TV at the World Fair, that he looked into this tiny hole and it was like a %26quot;window to the else where.%26quot;

How much can having a phobia change your life?

how can it change your life,

and any other facts about phobias would be nice:)
How much can having a phobia change your life?
Well i was taking a psychology class 100 and phobia is a anxiety disorder. It can really effect you life really bad, where like if someone would be scared of something they would scream and go crazy. the best thing in a phobia is to overcome the phobia. You can have a phobia it not like a really bad disorder where you need medication it like a disorder where you can just overcome and let the phobia go.
How much can having a phobia change your life?
How about end it? Say you have a phobia about getting shots, so you don't get the flu vaccine. But you get the flu and die from it. Yikes!!
It can make you avoid stuff and miss out.

If you want to know more about different phobias you can go here: http://disorder-cures.com/when-panic-dis鈥?/a>
a phobia can really affect your life.

one time i was watching tv and some girl was scared of pickles..like literally. so it affected her life because imagine what it'd be like to go in a restaurant and see a pickle you know?

and then another girl was scared of styrofoam. so imagine if she got a package in the mail w/ styrafoam in it.

    wierd but true.
Your changes are depended on the category of the phobia that a person might have. A common phobia鈥攊n which I mean a fear that you see everyday鈥攈ave the highest effect. For example, if you were afraid of birds, that would be troublesome, because there are birds everywhere, and you almost see them everyday. But other fears that you don't experience everyday don't have a much effect.

My mother has Ophidiophobia, in which you are in fear of snakes. At first I told my mother that she should see a proffesional psychological doctor or phobias to help her stop her fear. But my mother doesn't need it, because she barely sees snakes. We live in a region where snakes are rarely found, so it has the least effect.

Phobias can really change who you are. You phobia (fear) haunts you, and prevents you from doing some certain things, like swimming if you were afraid of drowning.

What you need to do is see a professional doctor and cures phobias.
Phobias are thought by science to be old defense mechanisms left over from when humans were first evolving. This is perhaps why so many people are afraid of spiders- at some point in evolution it benifitted mankind to keep away from them. Same with all common phobias like fear of heights and enclosed spaces. Some phobias are maladaptive or unusually severe and therefore abnormal. These are the kinsd that impact people's lives the most and require therapy to fix. Often phobias are seen more in people with OCD and other mental illnesses.
A phobia can drastically reduce the quality of your life, bu it really depends on what phobia it is

Some people have a phobia or certain things like spiders, cockroaches.

Then theres stranger phobias such as pickles as someone else mentioned. I saw a guy who had a phobia of baked beans, the the point he would almost be crying when a bowl of baked beans came close to him

I dont have a phobia of spiders, but I really cannot stand them. Its no huge deal though, because I only see a spider in my house maybe twice a year

The worst sort of phobias I think, are where they directly relate to your everyday behavior. Things like Social Phobia (where youre afraid of people), Agoraphobia (where you cant bear open spaces), fear of crowds, Claustrophobia (fear of closed spaces), and various phobias associated with traveling

I think all these would really make things difficult for you, to the point where it would affect your life significantly

  • Has the Navy changed your life and your families life for the better?

This question is for anyone who served or is currently serving in the US Navy. Just want your personal experiences. How has the Navy made your life better and your families life better? What did you love most about serving? Was it worth it to you? What are the best things you got out of navy for you and your family?
Has the Navy changed your life and your families life for the better?
The Navy was a steady source of income while providing me with the training and experience that for the last 20 years has provided me with great jobs and pay.
Has the Navy changed your life and your families life for the better?
Sure... in my 15 years I finished my BA, MA, MBA, and started my PhD (all on the Navy's dime). I learned alot of interesting technical information, issues on national and international strategic and economic, and greatly improved my research and writing skills.

I also visited countries and learned cultures I never would have had the opportunity as a civilian: Japan, South Korea, Russia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Tasmania, British Seychelles, Bahrain, UAE, Kuwait, Italy, Spain, and of course Mexico and Canada. NOT to mention driving across the USA twice and seeing States I might not have as a civilian.

I also got to see some of the most BEAUTIFUL sunsets and starlit skies far out to sea... as well as some beautiful coastlines and incredible sea life.

My first marriage sucked... beware of any woman who knows your LES better than YOU do !! My second marriage was a result of a gal I met later and is now in it's 18th HAPPY year.
6 months ago we couldn't afford to buy food, my husband and I wouldn't eat most days so that my daughter had food. my husband and i both had a full time jobs and my ex paid child support but we were still in way over our heads. child care alone was 600 a month. I was really sick and I couldn't afford to go to a doctor (they wanted to take 100 a month for insurance from my check and I couldn't afford to do that). the funniest part was the fact that I had just got out of the Marines (we weren't married at the time). almost overnight the Navy changed our lives... my husband is so happy again and the benefits don't hurt
Yes. It has been a wonderful experience for me. Going on my third enlistment. Seen and experienced things most of the people in this country never will. Have met some of the brightest and bravest the country has to offer. Have a new sense of understanding of world politics (Being in Intel has its advantages) and how the main stream media contorts the truth for their benefit. Most of all, Ive had a TON of fun and have a great job. Loving every minute of it and am looking forward to several more years.
Yes..getting bumbing buttocks at every port we stop in is great. I've got a son in Brazil and Japan I support. It has been too bad really. Yeah I like the Navy
I am a Navy veteran...and proud of it!

While my service wasn't always easy or fun. I had times when I down right hated it...but I've always been glad of it. I would do it all again.

I grew up and matured. I learned to be more tolerant of others. I learned life lessons that you don't learn in school.

I've been to 11 different countries. I loved to travel the most. I saw a lot of Asia. Japan is one of my favorite countries to visit. I got to live there for 2 years. I would love to go visit it again if I had the money...when I was AD I got to go for free.

It was hard being away from my family. I missed many birthdays and holidays...but the times I did go home on leave were meaningful.

I never married or had kids. I guess that was mostly personal choice, but the Navy does strain a relationship. By the time I would get close enough to open up to a boy friend one of us would transfer...I don't do long-distant relationships...

One of the best things I did for myself was to finish my education. I got my AA degree while serving and finished by BS degree my first year out with my GI bill.

I work at a local hospital now. I was a Navy Corpsman so the job training really helped me find a good job (even in a failing economy).

I've only been out since Dec 06. I miss it some. I miss my shipmates. Out here there is nothing like it. You go to work then go home.

I also miss having the Federal Holidays off. (most of them anyway..I know there are duty days, but out here they don't care if it is MLK day or Columbus Day..We only get Chrismas, New Year, Thanksgiving, and Labor Day off.)

Oh yeah, I have a $25 co-pay to see my doctor and my Rx cost me between $15-$50 per 30 day supply...

Please would you tell me about the day your life changed?

I would love to learn about life changing events that people have experienced. They could be anything at all. Thank you so much for sharing your story.
Please would you tell me about the day your life changed?
My life changed the day i met my husband ... i was at uni training to be in the army and there he was ..A year later we married and i stopped being such an arrogant person and up my own bottom as my husband would say ....he came into my life and i changed completely and i have no regrets
Please would you tell me about the day your life changed?
I've had so much trauma in my life. Every traumatic event I've suffered has changed my life. Each one has eroded away at my soul and left me feeling like a hollow shell. The most recent one was when my grandma died. I miss her so much. I feel like part of me is dead too. Is this what you wanted to hear?
Well that was two years ago and I that day I saw the most wonderful creature and that creature was looking at me.I couldn't believe my eyes,I couldn't believe how wonderful he was. From that moment he entered in my heart and he doesn't want to go away yet. That day my life changed for 360 degrees, and not just that day, all the following period.I have become more mature, experienced,I have learned how to handle with love pain and fight against depression, in one word I was learning to love and lead my life in the wanted direction!
When I had my first %26quot;Born Again%26quot; experience 20 years ago!!! My life changed in thee Most Awesome way, so much so, that no one on Planet Earth could ever tell me that God does not exist!!! No one, and I would die for Him!! Because I'd know I would go to Heaven for Him also!!!! He's thee most Powerful, Omnipotent, Awesome Loving Magestic Being in OUR UNIVERSE!!! I kid you NOT!!!! Smile!!!
September 11, 2001. I was about to get my US Green card and the immigration rules changed after that
My life changed the day I started really wanting to live for Jesus. I want Him to be the center of my life all the time, and I see how He has blessed me financially and spiritually and emotionally. He has healed me of asthma and allergies. I see dreams from Him and He gives me a hope and a future. I have a purpose now. I confessed that He is Lord and I am living for Him. I still sin, but He forgives and we move closer together.
It would have to be the day my father died..I as only 16 and I went to live with my mother ..her and I don't get along so well..my life turn to shyt ever since I often say if my father could held in there for to more years things may have been different..my life was no bowl of joy with my father..well that's one day that changed my life..
The day I accepted jesus christ as my lord and savior.
Every day is a life changing event. And no one particular day marked anything life changing because any changes of that nature required more than one day. I suppose the day I decided to start hatha yoga practice and the first day was an 8 hour event that required all my internal force to concentrate sufficiently against all my being of contrary behaviors.
My life changed the day i got a viral infection, i know that sounds so pathetic but that is what i believe triggerd my panic attacks! and now i have an almost permanent fear of passing out and not waking up. Its changed my like completley, before i was a bubbly loud outspoken and outgoing 18 year old, i had jus visited Gran Canaria and had the time of my life, i had flown by myself and faced so much, and then i got ill and from that day life changed and now i feel like some sort of freak, i know i will overcome them eventually but im an impatient person !!

If a fictional character changed your life more than a real person has, is this character more real?

If a fictional character changed your life more than a real person has, is this character more real than real life people?
If a fictional character changed your life more than a real person has, is this character more real?
    For me, Yes!

Anything that inspires to such an extent that it affects your life in real terms has to have real value...than all the real people who do nothing for you!!!

Afterall, life is nothing but a conglomeration of ideas, dreams and their effects...
If a fictional character changed your life more than a real person has, is this character more real?
Many fictional character influence our life in many ways. e.g a child plays a character of CID when he sees or reads the fiction. and later on he may have a curious mind for everything..

Yes , sometimes it influenced so badly, it effects the psychology of a person.

Mostly adolescence take it seriously . Sometimes may be good also ,sometimes it gives the worst result.
In one sense there's no difference between a fictional person and a real person whom you'll never meet. Both of them, for you at least, exist only in your mind. Sure, they're talked about differently, but they're still both just neuronal representations in your head.

That might be an inspiring answer or a totally dull one, I can't tell. But the more I look at your question, the more it looks like you're embedding the answer in the question.

For example, what you mean by saying %26quot;more real%26quot;. Because if %26quot;real%26quot; means %26quot;real%26quot;, then there's no such thing as %26quot;more real%26quot;. So what you're saying is that there are degrees of %26quot;real%26quot;. So now you have to decide what you mean by %26quot;real%26quot;, or maybe even rethink what you mean by the whole question.

And also when you ask about the fictional character changing your own personal life. You're talking about that character's influence solely on you, regardless of what relationships might exist among other people and that fictional character. Yeah, the more I look at your question, the more I think that you're not sure what you mean. Have a think and pose a refined version of it?
I think the real difference is in the potential of non fictional characters to continue affecting your life. So long as a fictional character has actions, thoughts or words unseen, unthought and unheard they can continue affecting your life. Potentially as much or more than any non fictional person. But fictional characters within our personal timelines live much shorter lives than the non fictional types that surround us. That fact along with our inability to interact with fictional characters or change their world in any way are the main differences between what we're forced to call %26quot;real%26quot; and the fictional.
Oh, thank you for asking this! Well I don't quite understand what you meant by 'real'.. But either way I think I catch your drift. I'd rather say that they gave me a real 'impact'. And like someone said here, behind every fictional character is a real person/s who created them.

That actually happened to me a lot of times and I usually end up idolizing the creator of that character. Let me just tell you about my favorite fictional character ever: His name is Zidane Tribal from Final Fantasy IX, his pick up line is %26quot;Do I need a reason to help someone?%26quot;, and he was designed by Toshiyuki Itahana. For more about him, check this link.

    http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Zidan鈥?/a>

Well, of all the fictional characters I've known, he is the most realistic one I've seen yet. And I can just say that their characters are more interesting than the likes of people I usually meet outside everyday by a million times. Anyway, my second favorite would be Ramza Beoulve from another Final Fantasy game. The plot is just really SOMETHING for a video game of that time. It's very much like the reality of our own society and I think the developers really meant it to be that way.

    http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Ramza
One or more fictional characters DID change my life more than any real person did, and yet I am quite aware that they are fictional. They seem real while I am reading the book; afterward, they are only real as part of me. (Growing up, I wanted to be like the heroines in my favorite books. I'm not sure if it was conscious or unconscious, but I did become much like them.)
YES indeed. After all, what matters is the impact (and the right one) on one's life, whoever it might be due to.

And also remember,.......... that fictional character was made up by a real person, ...... which means that behind every fictional character is a real person!
His fictional plan for his life is might be worth following in my real life. A road map is also fictional but can still be followed successfully
It's the AUTHOR who is ultimately responsible for changing your life. (Or screenwriter, or etc.)
When ever I read or re-read any book by Sharat Chander I behave better, I love people more and I forgive others easily. I wish it lasts longer than it does.
It still remains a fictional character.
Perhaps for those who can distinguish between fact and fiction no, and for those that can't yes.
how something affects your life or change your life does not speak of or pertain to whether that thing or anything is real at all
    it remains
Not when you're older, maybe as a child if I can remember correctly. Real life is a bit too real. :)
Yeah, God, but not for the better.

Do you know the exact moment of certain life changing events?

You dont know them the moment they occur, but have you ever reflected back on certain things in your life and discovered maybe an exact moment that changed your life forever. I am not talking vaugue details but literal moments in your life. Here are some examples.

1)When I was in highschool I dated a guy I thought I really loved and/or he loved me. Yet there was a day he said one thing and I knew it was over. Looking back I see how the words he said changed my life forever. I ended up meeting the guy I married. Maybe I should call up the old ex and thank him for being such as ***!

    2) Ironically I met my hubby through my dad. He just got dumped and he had a female friend whose husband just died. The started hanging out more for comfort. Her son was introduced to me and years later we were married. Had my dad not gotton dumped and her husband not have died then we may have never met.

Ok am I weird to think about such things in context like this?
Do you know the exact moment of certain life changing events?
no, you are not weird...everything happens for a reason
Do you know the exact moment of certain life changing events?
    1. the moment i got married.

    2. the moment i accepted a new job

    3. the moment i stepped in atlanta and realized i want to move there.

    two of the biggest moments

the day i found out i was pregnant

the day my son was born

u r not weird for thinking it in this way. its a good way to think about things. i should thank the boyfriend i had before my husband for being an a s s because than i would of never left him for my husband.
    Well, like they say, %26quot;On such tiny hinges swing the gates of our lives.%26quot;

There's no telling what might have been, but the fact of the matter is that all presents in our lives become pasts that cannot be changed.

So when you decide whether to get married or not, whether to have unprotected sex or not, or whether to send off that college application or apply for that job or not, you are slowly building up a past that is set in stone, but a future that is still wide-open, depending on what you do in the present ;-)
maybe not exact moment but mostly just assumption if it is not written down.
the night i first cut myself I knew things would never be the same and a new era of self discovery had started
We all have choices in our lives and when one door opens, another closes and the opposite.
I have twice felt the exact moment of falling in love and recognized that it was happening then.

Interestingly neither of those was with the person I married.

    i suggest u read this...

How much money would be considered life changing and what would u do?

whats amount of money would change your life? what would u invest into so u dont have to go out working again? and not in the upper millions.
How much money would be considered life changing and what would u do?
Generally speaking I would say that $10 million (US$) is sufficient for total economic freedom. With that amount you can put half into safe investments, and live off the interest (about $250,000 a year) indefinitely. The other $5 can be used for major purchases, or for major investments (e.g. starting companies, buying a yacht or a plane, etc.)

That's the answer if you want to never have to work again. Any amount of cash in the bank less than perhaps $2 million and you would likely have to work, because you can only count on a 5% rate of return on your investments over the long term (unless you spend your life investing, which I would call work).

As for what would %26quot;change your life%26quot;, that's way too subjective a question for me to answer.

By the way, recent psychological research shows that money does not cause happiness. In fact it may be the other way around.
How much money would be considered life changing and what would u do?
$ 1.000.000.00 Start my real estate business.
Any amount of extra money would be welcome.

But to make any meaningful life changes it would have to be in the several million.

At 5% interest 1 million dollars will get you $50,000 per year.

Just how far will that get you in todays market place?

Now that is nothing to sneeze at but not enough to make a big change in my life.
Right now, 1,000 would change my life.
Not all means life change by money but own success on biz or new invent on product or etc... will change our life. i still planning on this. hope you will joint me one day.not how much you have but how much $$$ drop into our pocket every day.
All I want is money to mess w/ cars so about 50-200k for that, any more than that would go to creating an orphanage, good quality orphanage.

How do you change your life style?

I have tried to change my life style several times but failed. It was my new year resolution but couldn't do it. Please help me with this and give me some advice, ideas or tips of How to change mis spending money, to quite smoking, to stop prograstination, to be active person, to get good grades in college, to manage time, to make new freinds, to get involve community activity. If you changed life style successly and had this kind of experience please kindly give me your answer, I really appreciate.
How do you change your life style?
I think you are trying to do everything at one time. I would sort out the ones that are the most important. Like smoking. Thats going to take sometime, however, thats something you can start on now, while changing something else. You can get in the habit of not smoking, while focusing on the grades. Getting good grades in college is another one. Thats something you have to strive for. Making time to study would help that. And really being dedicated to your work. Thats something you have to focus on now, because finishing college and getting a degree for a career, is apart of your future. So that problem needs to be sorted out now. Misspending money. You should start by ruling out things you dont need to buy. Like seperating things you need versus things you want. Try making a list. The Wants can wait, the needs is something you can focus on now. Which is hard-believe me, I know, Im going through that problem now. But, you dont want to overspend espescially since you are in college. All the rest of these things will fall into place. Once you figure out the big stuff first.
How do you change your life style?
You do your best at attempting, that is all you can do.
Sounds like you need to become a monk.

Man, you are trying to be perfect too fast. List them in order of importance and work on the most important first but also try improving on the others.

All of them will be a day at a time and there will be mistakes along the way. Write down where you want to be in 6 months and a year, put it on your bathroom mirror where you can see it daily, and strive for that goal.
You can't just think one day to change your lifestyle. Years of habits have caused you to be who you are today. You need to look deep within yourself and figure out exactly what you want to represent. Remember you hold you life in your hands and change comes with many small steps at a time.

Have you ever been told something that changed your life?

Has anyone ever said or have you ever read something that profoundly changed your life? What was it?
Have you ever been told something that changed your life?
You are looking at things the wrong way. Everything affects us in some way. It may seem that a profound statement affects your life in some grand way... but it is everything that impinges on us that profoundly changes our life.

Someone asks you to throw away a piece of paper on the floor. You do so and your life is invariably altered by that one small action. By taking the time to throw away that paper, you are 2 seconds slower getting to your car and entering traffic. You end up missing the fatal car collision that would have crippled you had you never touched that piece of paper.

Still, to answer your question the way you worded it... I would say reading, %26quot;The Selfish Gene%26quot; by Richard Dawkins had the biggest affect on my life in the past 4 years. It changed me from Deism/Agnosticism to Atheism. It changed my entire worldview.
Have you ever been told something that changed your life?
    Just Keep doing it.
    yes.
Yes my mom that no matter how sick you get keep fighting. Also my sister who has MS tells me not to give up.
two books - Walden by Thoreau and Sun Also Rises by Hemmingway - shaped the kickass and groovy guy that I am today!
    yes...its a boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I was young I was told that my father had died. That changed my entire life.
    %26quot;I'm pregnant!%26quot;
Yes me and my mother had problems and when she died my friend told me that i could love her now and wouldnot get hurt anymore realy changed my life
yes the words your fired greatly effects your life. or the words you are under arrest. or the words we are over. or the words I'm pregnant.
Lead, Follow, or get out of the way
    Yes, the Bible. :-D
    You're pregnant!
    You're pregnant.!?
Yes, when my ex-boyfriend broke up with me it devastated me. It changed who I am.
    Yup went something like this, %26quot;Don't drive alone at night with just a permit, cause next time we'll bring ya in.%26quot;
Yes. I think it was Oprah who said %26quot;live your best life%26quot; and %26quot;live your lives consciously%26quot;. It's so cheesy and pathetic to quote Oprah but I think what she said was important to live by in this period of media manipulation, capitalism, and bad influences. We should make life choices consciously and with purpose, and not do something just because we were pressured to or if it's hip or trendy or whatever.
yes, when the doctor told me I would never be able to see again!
    They told me

    %26quot;you will be lucky if you even amount to beyour fat and ugly%26quot;

that has motivated me to become everything that they put in front of me as goal
    Yes. At 31 weeks pregnant: %26quot;You're two centimeters dialated. This isn't false labor.%26quot;
    I was talking to my mentor about my dad, and he was like, %26quot;No, Luke. I am your father!%26quot;
    yes, %26quot;would you ever marry a guy like me?%26quot;
Yes, We all have... Our family and society that builds our knowledge and retention of our personal vocabulary. In other words... us being able to talk... is our lives being changed by what we are told. However, metaphisically, yes... I was told once that freedom is greater than pride. If i ever done half the things i wanted to out of pride, id probably be in jail or not alive any more.
    Yes.

%26quot;You do not have to live the next six days, six weeks, six months, or six years of your life RIGHT NOW.

    WHAT is wrong with RIGHT NOW?%26quot;

    %26quot;Live life just for today, just for right now.%26quot;

For sure. I was told that life is about just showing up. Effort means alot. I also read that when you wake up you should thank your %26quot;higher power%26quot; for that day, and all of the opportunites that will come your way, and they will come! I read that you can control your own destiny by what you say and think.
yea...U may never get to see ur niece Kairi agian....IT MADE ME CRY! T_T
Yes. I was told that I am a failure and should give up what i was aspiring for. It was terrible, you know. But then i stood up, explored ways of achieving my goal, made a sound strategy, followed a routine, and put in a lot of labour. Ultimately, what i got was more than what i had aspired for. Crux was, keep your spirit alive and don't lose focus. Being labelled as a failure changed my life.

What is the most life changing/ significant thing that has happened in your life?

What is the most life changing/ significant thing that has happened in your life?
When my dad died a year ago.
What is the most life changing/ significant thing that has happened in your life?
i used to be a really stingy, stuck up, rude b*tch. i won't lie, i thought i was the sh*t. i talked so much smack and literally didn't give a f*ck about anything at all. i one day met this girl, her name was sophie. i didnt like sophie, but something drew me to her. i was really jealous of her beauty, her perfect family..everything. i aspired to be like her. she was my ideal person. but then again i hated her bcause i was so jealous. one day, i got the biggest wakeup call. i woke up one morning and signed onto my fb. everywhere it was said rip sophie. i was hurt, i was depressed. i was anxiety ridden..my idol was gone. she changed me so much. i realized i should be nice to people, always because i never know what will happen. she taught me to live life to the fullest. she made me have a 180 on life..i am more than thankful for her presence in my life. you have no idea how much she changed everything. i love life. i love it.
so far (I'm 13) it was when I asked a boy to dance and trusted him so much w/ my body... IDk lame%26gt; ya but hey thats all I got!
When I became 1st honor in our class from Gr.4-present
A drunk driver came round the corner in pitch black on our side of the road and we had a head on crash, ending with us on the side of a mountain. Although we were cut and stretchered out the car, me and my husband walked away with broken ribs caused mainly by impact. George Cayley invented the seatbelt in the 1800's.

Thank you George for my life and my husband.

  • What happened and changed your life?

I'd like to hear some interesting experiences of people who got through something and got their life changed. %26quot;A day in your life when something happened and changed it%26quot; something like that :) thanks.
What happened and changed your life?
I have a sort of collection of events that added up to change my life. They didn't happen to me, but they happened to my sister, sophie, so it still affected me.

My sister's ex boyfriend is like mentally unstable and he used to beat her, and I knew what a dick he was but my parents wouldnt believe me, then one day he went crazy and tried to kill my sister with a knife. Luckily his friend was there to hold him back so that sophie could get out the house and drive off. Then my sister went back to him (she loved him and kept forgiving him for his anger outbursts- her biggest mistake) and she left him and kept going back to him in secret. It pretty much tore our family apart and her and mum were constantly fighting and sophie kept getting kicked out the house to live with him - but then he'd beat her and she'd want to leave for real but had nowhere to go. So she stayed with friends and eventually mum forgave her and she said sorry and came to live with us again, but mum suspected that she was still seeing him. After that, he rang about twenty times a day and hung up if anybody but sophie answered. My whole family got restraining orders and stuff and the court ordered him to stay away but he must have bbrieched it about 50 times but the police just didn't do anything (justice, eh?) and then one day he called soph and was crying on the phone (deathday of his graddad) and he wanted soph to come visit at him at his grave one last time and talk things out, then he'd never call again. sophie went down there, and then he beat her and he pressed and kneeled on her stomach (she was pregnant) to try and kill the baby. Then he tried to hang her, but she managed to talk her way out of it and say she still loved him and shed leave the family to be with him. So he idiotically agreed and he said he'd kill the family if she went to police. Obviously, she did and then there was always police coming around our house and all this court stuff and junk, and then chris STILL kept calling and the police didn't even register them half the time. then one day, chris left a suicide note that his mum found (court made him stay at his mum's on bail... i know! the stupid judge gave him bail !!) and it said he was going to burn our house down with us all in it before he killed himself. and then the police couldnt find him for days and the whole family was paranoid and mum was crying all the time, then they finally caught him and he was put into jail for a bit pleading insanity. AGAIN, the police let him go on bail, and he stays a while away from us in the city now, and apparently he's really loopy and has lost it now. But the good thing is, it changed my life for the better. It REALLY brought our family together, especially my sister. She was shut away from the family and always in fights with mum while with Chris, but now she's properly part of the family again. I'm writing a book on this whole thing as well, so wish me luck with that. ^_^
What happened and changed your life?
when someone who was very close 2 me left me and didn't look back...

left me with tears...it was so painful and i was sooo stupid...

at this moment my life and my way of thinking has changed...my thoughts has become more mature and religious.

i prayed to God to help me and he did.

now i'm thanking God for everything happened to me even if it was painful.
my parents took me out of school in the seventh grade and decided to homeschool me im like damn i cant even get a middle school prom my whole life changed and theres nothing i can do about it

its been so hard finding friends my old friends arent friends anymore their just old friens ive completely lost my mind and everyday my life gets worse because its the same routine every single day one after another and even if i had friends there would be nothing to talk about because i do nothing every day

What books have changed your life, and how?

For me, it's any George Orwell book, or Catcher in the Rye.

George Orwell made me proud to be working class, and filled me with a wish to fight the establishment, and Catcher in the Rye was like reading about myself, and every time I read it, I learn more about myself.

What books have changed your life?
What books have changed your life, and how?
I'm not sure who will I offend with this post, however:

The Stranger by Albert Camus is the simple answer to the way I view everything that happens around me, only I was never able to put it in words the way Camus did. Summary of what the story tries to say: Religion is the product of people's desire and almost need to answer the famous questions: Who am I? What am I doing? Why do I exist? In his book Camus creates a character that is almost uncomfotable with the idea of death, but what the author really tries to explain is that once humans accept that they will die someday and they won't have an afterlife (no hell, absolutely no heaven), they will finally begin to live their lives in a way that is really worth living. People need to accept death in order to find themselves and not need philosophical suicide (believe in god). The way things are, are not because of god. People are the only ones in control of their decisions. We don't need a superior being or anything like that to exist, WE make our one reason to exist.

PD: Orwell's a genious, and Catcher in the Rye's great!
What books have changed your life, and how?
I n all honesty I would have to say the Bible, as I try to apply it in my daily living.
All books I have read have shaped and adapted my life. War and Peace in particular changes the life of everyone who reads it, and with me it was no exception. With the Alice series by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor, I found a way to live life without actually living it, which was fun. With Harry Potter, I found something that I can read when I'm depressed. I also read it when I'm not depressed, but it lightens the load.

East of Eden is a notable one, because it is what got me interested in classical literature. I now own many books in the Western canon, some well known and some only slightly.
    The Giver, by Lois Lowry,

The City Of Ember by JeAnne DuPrau

    The Bible (duh, lol)

Reconstructing Natalie by Laura Jensen Walker

    aaaaaand

    Harry Potter XD
Read the series of books by the author %26quot;David Pelzer%26quot;:

There are 3 to the series:

    I) A Child Called %26quot;It%26quot;

    II) The Lost Boy

    III) A Man Named Dave

...we read the series in school and believe me, it would change anyone forever!
    The Bible.

Romans 12. the whole chapter. i've memorized it. absolutely life changing.

{12:1}Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.{12:2}Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.{12:3}For I say, through the grace that was given me, to every man who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think reasonably, as God has apportioned to each person a measure of faith.{12:4}For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members don't have the same function,{12:5}so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.{12:6}Having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, if prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith;{12:7}or service, let us give ourselves to service; or he who teaches, to his teaching;{12:8}or he who exhorts, to his exhorting: he who gives, let him do it with liberality; he who rules, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.{12:9}Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.{12:10}In love of the brothers be tenderly affectionate one to another; in honor preferring one another;{12:11}not lagging in diligence; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;{12:12}rejoicing in hope; enduring in troubles; continuing steadfastly in prayer;{12:13}contributing to the needs of the saints; given to hospitality.{12:14}Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don't curse.{12:15}Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep.{12:16}Be of the same mind one toward another. Don't set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Don't be wise in your own conceits.{12:17}Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men.{12:18}If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.{12:19}Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, %26quot;Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.%26quot;{12:20}Therefore %26quot;If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink. For in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.%26quot;{12:21}Don't be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
The Little House on the Prairie Series by Laura Ingles. The adventures she had, so real and I could relate to her. Her problems and feelings.

The Children of the Earth Series by Lean Auel. it is a great set of books about what early life in the stone age might have been like. The story is a good one but the information is spectacular.

The Dragon Riders of Pern Books by Anne McCaffery. Just plain awesome SciFi. Drama and Danger and Dragons all in the far far future and the middle ages... all in one.

Someone before me said %26quot;The Child Called %26quot;It%26quot; That book is wonderful and horrable all at once and deffinatly one that touched me deeply.

I guess the theme I find in the books I like is the %26quot;Useful Person%26quot; theme. All my favorite heroes are people who make themselves useful people, who have allot of common sense and who care for and have faith on other people as a whole.
I have read many books that have %26quot;hit home%26quot; in different ways, but the one that stands out the most in changing my life and my way of thinking has to be Tuesdays with Morrie; it has given me hope and inspiration.

If Obama is elected, will you change your life?

I'm heading for the Philippines, before he takes the Oath of Office. Will your life change if he becomes President? If he began to make huge alterations to your civil liberties, week by week, do you have a Plan B in place?
If Obama is elected, will you change your life?
care to elaborate on Obama's huge alterations to our civil liberties? Bon voyage.
If Obama is elected, will you change your life?
    no
Ah, you oppressive book-burners sure are afraid that everyone else is as mean as you.
    Yes.

I'll be happier to see you gone.

    .
Defffinitely, I will move to Canada!!
I will finally have a reason to smile about this country... no more of this other political crap...
I'm buying all the guns I can before he gets elected.
If Obama is elected, then he will be my president. Just like Bush, Clinton...etc.
    No
i don't think the president has that much power. he would still have to go threw congress to change laws.
Ummmm no......I hope he wins!!!! but It wont really change anything for me here in Australia....
First of all he can't do anything without the approval of congress as far as laws are concerned, and whoever gets in office if life does change I hope it is for the better.
Hopefully Obama changes Americas corrupted economic crises. I keep the Laws of Yahweh I don't' need to change myself maybe Americans need to vote Obama and change theirs.
When Mr. Obama is elected, we shall miss you. Plan B is not necessary since people have voted him in office. You talk like he is evil or something, stop stressing, God's got it.
I'm heading out to my bunker with all my guns. No not really. I will be watching to make sure it is safe to live in the city, and if not I will head out to the bunker with all my guns.
Alterations to civil liberties? You mean as in the Patriot Act?

If Obama wins, I would be 100% satisfied with the outcome of this election. We %26lt;SORELY%26gt; need the Dems back in power. Last time, Clinton balanced that hideous thing we called our %26quot;budget.%26quot; We even wound up with a federal surplus! This time around, we may not get a federal surplus like last time, but I'm praying he can at least clean up the GOP's mess.
Yes. I plan to eat more ribs and greens. Maybe some yams too.
    LOL

Well I'm sure my life will change but let's not hope too drastically...My husband jokes about moving to Canada if Obama is elected....sigh wish we did have a better plan B in place.

    God bless !
I plan to join Linedancer, above, at his table. I love ribs and my favorite greens is collards. Move over.

    Hannah J Paul
Well I know that he won't make any huge alterations to our civil liberties,so I don't have to worry about it. However, if McCain wins my whole family has already agreed that we're gonna move to Toronto, Canada.

What amount of money would it take to change your life?

Say you went on a gameshow or something, what would you consider a decent amount of money to go away with because it would change your life? Obviously the ideal amount would be millions and millions but what amount would change your life and why?
What amount of money would it take to change your life?
To the extent that I would like for it to change, $1000,000,000.
What amount of money would it take to change your life?
15 grand. That'd wipe out the student loan.
I could get right cozy for 20 grand. Cuz I'm frugal.
    $100,000
    very little,,,
    At the moment 10g :)

Not a lot but that's all I need!!
拢25k would make a difference, 拢50k would be life changing
    thirty six cents.

    just cuz.
200,000 would be nice if i can't have a stupid amount.

Jack in my soddin job and get loads of boys toys including my life long want of a V8...
拢40,000 would clear the mortgage.....with 拢200,000 I would not have to worry about working again (dream lol)
I would need a lot to stop working for the rest of my life!! so i woudl be happy and travel the world
$40000......that'd wipe out my combined debts
    $1.00

And the right Big Game numbers.
well.... right now, i would say $5000.

cos i need $2000 for my shopping and the $3000 for my parents, so that they can relax and loosen up a little for all their hard work. and also cos they deserve it. it would change my life, cos i havent been shopping for a long time and 2000 would DO A LOT and, if my parents are happier even if it means for just that moment, that would change my life. because i would feel like ive repaid their deeds even if it was by a little =)
拢1000 at this moment would be a life change for me
200 thousand pounds would make me very happy-it would get me out of my council house get me and my kids on a around the world trip and id be able to send my 80 yr old grandp[arents on a lifetime wanted cruise
    At least $100,000.
Well, I'm still a minor, but it would take my parents about $300,000 to get out of debt, for my mom to pay off her credit cards form when she was young, for them to pay the electric, water, and so much more. If they could pay off those bills, we'd be living so much better. Neither of them went to college, so they have minimum wage. But that's life, and I can only imagine that money.

Who is the one person that changed your life?

who do you rely on, tell everything to them? the most respectable and paitent person you knew? who changed your life?
Who is the one person that changed your life?
    My Dad.

He created my life, or co-created with mom, but he also guided me into the life I have by his wisdom, love, patience, encouragement, friendship, discipline, lessons, sense of humor and adventure, love of family and sense of duty, and no matter what the question, he would help me find the answers. He taught us unconditional love, and with every stage of my life, he always knew what to say and do to help me grow and develop into a good person.

When Dad was dying, we talked about what would happen after. He was mostly concerned with us, and once we told him that it was okay to go, he didn't have to hang around for us, we all cried, and hugged, and he died in his sleep a few nights later. No regrets, just lots of warm memories, as well as writings he left us for the future.

But next is my wonderful hubby! He showed me what real love is like after I suffered through 18yrs of a bad marriage. After my divorce we met and he taught me how to love myself again also! He is ever so patient with me, listens to my complaining, loves me even though I have a chronic illness that makes me sick most of the time. Takes care of me, shows kindness, respect, consideration for my feelings and he is my best friend! I am so lucky to have found him! I was ready to give up on love and thought all men were scum. But he came into my life and changed my mind and turned my days into happiness. Thank you My Bee! Love Honeysuckle
    My dad
Every life is a puzzle no one piece makes it whole. But, my paternal grandmother, when I was 10 days old and my mom had a psychotic break, she took me in. And everytime mom was rehospitalized, she came to take care of me. Always there Always loving Never judging.
My brother. I was a wild little savage as a child, and he was gentle, patient, and sensitive. Gosh, from the stories I hear I must have been a PAIN to deal with - I was sooo independent, strong-willed - my poor mom! :P I'm sure I was a pretty annoying little sister most of the time, too, but my brother NEVER fought with me. I think that's pretty amazing.

I feel so lucky to have ended up with this brother, because I always had a best friend to play with, someone to look out for me, AND someone who I'm sure taught me a lot about kindness and compassion. I really needed that - I worry a bit about how I might have turned out without that influence, because I was REALLY wild - yikes. Thank god for my gentle brother!

Other than that, he's a great guy and still my best friend. Maybe it's because he's family, or maybe because it's just the person he is, but I can count on him totally when I'm in trouble :)
My mom. Not once has she ever judged me. I can come to her with anything and she always has my back. I can trust her with my most personal secrets, questions, thoughts, or whatever. Love you Mama. *I was gonna say God, but he is not really a person on this earth*
That would be myself. I know nobody stronger or more reliable. I'd like to meet someone, but that just hasn't happened.
My second wife, She has given me thest of herself, always

there when I need her, She is everything that you describe, and even though, through some circumstances we divorced, she remains my love, and the is the person I will always admire. nothing has changed between us, except that

    M. certificate.
Ashe, he's been there for me through hell and back, Ive told him everything and would trust him with my life. He's changed my life by giving me someone to trust.
