%26quot;Left to Tell%26quot; by Immaculee Ilibagiza. Amazing true story of how the author hid in a minister's bathroom with seven others for over three months during the holocaust in Rwanda. The experience changed her state of mind, and obviously also her life. The way she tells it does the same for, I'd venture to say, most of her readers if not all. It reminded me of some common old sayings, particularly %26quot;If you think you have it bad, just remember someone else in the world has it worse.%26quot; She had to remain quiet in that small space while listening to the sounds of her family and the entire community being butchered outside, and yet paradoxically she discovered the meaning of faith in that bathroom. Not necessarily Christian or any other naming organized church-goers (although she is now Catholic), just all that is entailed by the word alone - Faith. The word is used here so as to be interpreted however you need it to be, whether as %26quot;God%26quot; or simply as %26quot;something better.%26quot;

No one reading this should think it's a book trying to draw anyone into any certain religion. That's not the case. Just forces you to think twice about whatever your current situation is, and re-shapes your mindset to be a much more positive one...even if you're not quite aware that's happening while reading.

The Lovely Bones...it deals openly and honestly with tragedy and how it affects the lives of everyone involved
The Picture of Dorian Grey was a fascinating concept, with %26quot;be careful what you wish for, you just might get it%26quot;. I really like one of the chapters, but forget which one it is: this chapter describes Dorian Grey changing as he reads a certain book, it's excellent symbolism for the reader reading the book about Dorian Grey.
Cirque Du Freak. I was addicted to food until i read this books. The main character is a vampire and he has to drink human blood or else he will die, he rather dies than harming someone. It sort of inspired me to stop my food addiction.
Star Wars: Shatterpoint showed me a new definition of pain and horror. It induced nightmares that showed me how selfish the path I was on was. Turned my future completely around.
