What is the most life-changing book youve ever read? why / how did it change your life?

The Stand by Stephen King.

This could actually happen to us at any time. I feel that governments do have these facilities and are experimenting with diseases that will destroy humans and its only a matter of time when a major accident happens or someone deliberately releases something into the atmosphere.
What is the most life-changing book youve ever read? why / how did it change your life?
I never really read a %26quot;life changing book%26quot; but my favorite books right now are the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyers :_)
What is the most life-changing book youve ever read? why / how did it change your life?
It has to be %26quot;Catch a Fire%26quot; by Timothy White.

It's a biography about reggae artist Bob Marley and it mixed fact, history and opinion with folklore.

It makes for an interesting read about an interesting person, dealing with both with perception of who he was, and who he really was.
%26quot;The Path of the Higher Self,%26quot; Mark Prophet.

More awareness of Life's octaves and of divine Love.
The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. A wonderful non-fiction book by a dying man who wants to pass on life lessons to his kids before he goes. Great book and a portion of the proceeds go to fund pancreatic cancer research. Check out his Last Lecture and Time Management videos on YouTube for a preview if you like.
I have read three life changing books, other than the bible.

!. Sacajaweja...a part of my Nat. Amer. heritage...proud, independant...

2. James Herriot's books. A desire to be compassionate, giving and loving.

3. Di Vinci Code. Gave me a further desire to explore and go beyond the traditional realms or christian study and opened my mind to new ideas..one's that I think have been left out of the 'usual' bible teachings.
''Everything is illuminated'' by Jonathan Safran Foer. I actually cried, and not because it was sad or the ending was happy. There is somehing in this book that changed my outlook on life.
Honestly, I would have to say all of the Twilight books by Stephenie Meyer.

Mostly New Moon. It is so sad and now whenever I hear certain songs...

[[ the scientist-coldplay, total eclipse of the heart-bonnie tyler]]

I seriously have to stop myself from crying..

This book gave me a whole new perspective about love, true love, etc.

Now I truly believe that there is somebody out there for everybody.

Honestly, if you haven't read this book, then you need to get your butt to a library/bookstore RIGHT NOW!

BTW:

It's not just about love, it has comedy, lots of action and some scary parts too!
Mr. Grumpy. It made me realise that I shouldn't have my bum in my hands all the time.
Harry Potter.

I started reading it at age 8, and it's absolutely shaped the last 10 years of my life. As a kid I hated reading and basically refused to read anything that wasn't shoved down my throat. Harry Potter basically taught me how to read. I went from being in the %26quot;special ed%26quot; class to the top class in 2 years.

Then there's the friends I've made in the Harry Potter fandom. And the experiences! I won a trip to LA because of Harry Potter and I've never had so much fun in my entire life.

As for the story itself. It gave me the morals I have now. Seriously after reading it I must have been the most self righteous little irit for at least a couple of years. It's made me laugh, cry, cower and jump up and down in excitement.

And I know it sounds lame, Harry Potter's a %26quot;kids book%26quot;. But seriously it has changed my entire life
'The Ragged Trousered Philathropist'. Showed me that there really is a 'Them and Us'.

It revealed to me the hidden inner workings of the Capitalist Economy, and made me a Socialist. So I have worked for the Labour Party of Great britain all my life.
Got to be Jodi Picoult - perfect match, It changed ma life cos it made me view life in a different light as it was about a mother who killed for her son when she found out he'd be abused and that to me was heartbreaking and also life changing for me it makes me see what a mother would do for her child.
Irving Welsh麓s %26quot;Filth%26quot;

I found it so boring that I fell asleep whilst reading. I toppled backwards from my chair and broke my neck. I am now in a wheelchair and typing this with my nose.
Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell.. I loved it so much, I found the ideas of being constantly observed by a government interesting. It made me think about how much power the government really has over us, or really COULD have if it wanted. Definitely changed my views and my life!
