How has India's independence affected or changed your life today?

How has India's independence in 1947 made a difference in your life? Even if you weren't alive then, how would your life be different today without the independence?
How has India's independence affected or changed your life today?
Yes of course it has given the Indian the freedom to call the country their own and not be slave to some tiny island nation . India is self sufficient in food. It has handled the recession better than the western nations. The economy is a growing one, so definitely India has come a long way from what it was in 1947.

who cares.. all i know is pakistan got there Independence from them :)
If india hadnt been taken over by Britain, they wouldnt be doing so bad now. But now india has been tryin to become more ahead and advancing their technologies.
Well, India is now a major producer and consumer in the world economy. They have a large pull in the global economy.

Additionally, the political shocks of still having a colonialist empire such as Britain would certainly be interesting. We might be looking at a very different world right now, regarding middle-eastern politics, African-Independence, as well as many other factors that would be affected by such a country.

Hope that helps.

Put yourself in the shoes of the people living before 1947 and now, use inspirations from movies, books, people to solve.
