How has India's independence in 1947 made a difference in your life? Even if you weren't alive then, how would your life be different today without the independence?
How did India's independence affect or change your life today?
I learned the significance of democracy, including its vices. Unscrupulous people cannot make use of democracy properly. It may lead to plutocracy when the political parties amass wealth. Now I feel that despite the colonial hegemony, the British were enlightened and they encouraged all the cultural aspects. Now we are more parochial in the name of religion, caste and narrow political interests. A politician who starts with no money becomes a millionaire within no time. Even leftists have become multimillionaires in India. I never imagined that freedom has such a dangerous consequence. Nepotism, bribery, attacking the opponent etc. have become quite common. Might has become right and muscle power has a role in our elections. Despite all these things, we can say that we elect our representatives for a just rule.

i was born after the a decade after the independence so, it did not affect me nor change my life!!!
