and any other facts about phobias would be nice:)
How much can having a phobia change your life?
Well i was taking a psychology class 100 and phobia is a anxiety disorder. It can really effect you life really bad, where like if someone would be scared of something they would scream and go crazy. the best thing in a phobia is to overcome the phobia. You can have a phobia it not like a really bad disorder where you need medication it like a disorder where you can just overcome and let the phobia go.

How about end it? Say you have a phobia about getting shots, so you don't get the flu vaccine. But you get the flu and die from it. Yikes!!
It can make you avoid stuff and miss out.

If you want to know more about different phobias you can go here: http://disorder-cures.com/when-panic-dis鈥?/a>
a phobia can really affect your life.

one time i was watching tv and some girl was scared of pickles..like literally. so it affected her life because imagine what it'd be like to go in a restaurant and see a pickle you know?

and then another girl was scared of styrofoam. so imagine if she got a package in the mail w/ styrafoam in it.

wierd but true.
Your changes are depended on the category of the phobia that a person might have. A common phobia鈥攊n which I mean a fear that you see everyday鈥攈ave the highest effect. For example, if you were afraid of birds, that would be troublesome, because there are birds everywhere, and you almost see them everyday. But other fears that you don't experience everyday don't have a much effect.

My mother has Ophidiophobia, in which you are in fear of snakes. At first I told my mother that she should see a proffesional psychological doctor or phobias to help her stop her fear. But my mother doesn't need it, because she barely sees snakes. We live in a region where snakes are rarely found, so it has the least effect.

Phobias can really change who you are. You phobia (fear) haunts you, and prevents you from doing some certain things, like swimming if you were afraid of drowning.

What you need to do is see a professional doctor and cures phobias.
Phobias are thought by science to be old defense mechanisms left over from when humans were first evolving. This is perhaps why so many people are afraid of spiders- at some point in evolution it benifitted mankind to keep away from them. Same with all common phobias like fear of heights and enclosed spaces. Some phobias are maladaptive or unusually severe and therefore abnormal. These are the kinsd that impact people's lives the most and require therapy to fix. Often phobias are seen more in people with OCD and other mental illnesses.
A phobia can drastically reduce the quality of your life, bu it really depends on what phobia it is

Some people have a phobia or certain things like spiders, cockroaches.

Then theres stranger phobias such as pickles as someone else mentioned. I saw a guy who had a phobia of baked beans, the the point he would almost be crying when a bowl of baked beans came close to him

I dont have a phobia of spiders, but I really cannot stand them. Its no huge deal though, because I only see a spider in my house maybe twice a year

The worst sort of phobias I think, are where they directly relate to your everyday behavior. Things like Social Phobia (where youre afraid of people), Agoraphobia (where you cant bear open spaces), fear of crowds, Claustrophobia (fear of closed spaces), and various phobias associated with traveling

I think all these would really make things difficult for you, to the point where it would affect your life significantly
